Federation Grand Prix Time Trials Contest YC123

That is a good point, the new players with the interceptors are going to be getting a bit shocked. Because if they Jita bought it its a 25M+ loss for new players. Its one of the reasons, I am kind of concerned a bit about it. We try to alert players to camps/bubbles/Interdictors.

Some players are not happy when they are getting Pewed off the first gate into LS or Null. So the issue is making the event fun enough, but not a one way killing spree. “Dead End being aptly named as such.”

Maybe an “official” Grand Prix channel would be nice for intel and all.

Prob some player level thing out there already for the event

Would be full of ganker misinformation, no doubt

I think a Live Events channel exists. Still, players have to know that ANY channel exists. The popup channel for incursion systems is probably a good example: hard to miss that.

I don’t need to experiment, I know the answers.

Pretty sure an uninterrupted perfect ride with a Leopard will be the fastest solo option with pure traveling. Last stint to finish line with self-destruct, or clone jump.

Next comes a run using a couple Leopards, and choosing a choke point, where you can short cut to via self-destruct (e.g. Antem, Amarr). Combined with WH or Pochven travel depending on wormhole luck.

And finally the best option is probably to bridge around a Leopard with a couple Titans in nearby lowsec. Maybe blopsing a Pacifier will also work (e.g. Imya → Dead End is only 4ly). Or a combination of all of the above.

EDIT: Gallente pilots maybe of advantage here, because their home system for remote change is close to the Finish line, so you can change the home system twice without cooldown. My home is 2j from Luminaire.

EDIT2: If this hints help somebody to get to the leaderboard, feel free to share the price

Southern route guide:

On the way have spare ships in Antem, Amarr and Couster, in Antem and Amarr you set your medical clone on first arrival. Then do the side trips to Dead end and Saminer respectively, let the campers pod you, grab next Leopard and head on. On your way if you are in same school than me you set home remotely to Couster, and self-destruct your way from Aucel to finish line.

Warning: this comes from my head, I haven’t actually put the effort in to try it out. :stuck_out_tongue: Good luck!

I agree, the people making it through are the ones setting up the gate camps .

the only skill gate camping requires is having the actual skill the pilot the ship and shoot the weapons.

Recordings of all three routes done flawlessly, no ships lost:

Enjoy and good luck!

Hi @CCP_Convict ,

I think that this is a great event idea. I want to know if it possible for CCP to provide the Corps a list of their top players at the conclusion of this event, even if the did finish in the top 10?

Cheers Connor

I was thinking this too! It would be really great to be able to run our own little contests during these events - we’re not quite zoomy enough to hit the leaderboards, I think.

Right now!

@Naskingar_Eginald @Xafen_Katapi You guys seemed to be very confident you’d be on the leaderboards at the next update but I don’t see you there. There were some really fast times posted recently though which might have nudged you back out unseen. Does that sound reasonable or does anything feel “off” to you?

So tried again on Saturday to fly the Eastern Route without any tricks, just pure speed, Pacifier around 20AU. I think I can handle stopwatch and have done this route several times before. Measured time around 27.39 but as I can see I didn’t find myself on ladderboard.

Greetings to the referees

I too find these timers to be Questionable… I for SURE made a 23.5-24.0 at most, on the Eastern route @CCP_Convict

image that was my eastern run… I was so happy at the time since I knew I beat the “best” score from yesterday’s update… I can live with few seconds off from actual time of the beacon to kick in or time points… but not 27 minutes. x are start/finish. y z are some checkpoints to gauge next runs
