Hey, dudes! Just providing opportunity for people to discuss the latest Agency event: Rogue Swarm Alert.

The Good Stuff:
-cerebral accelerator rewards…but not frequent enough
-common occurrence of sites
-skills not normally invoked (salvaging, hacking)
-they pop easy enough
-ISK bounties
-no timer to complete site
-can move freely through site; no excessive debris or structures

What Needs Work:
-drop rate of cerebrals and upper-level prizes seems extremely low…
-hacking is annoying me…but that’s just me…at least we don’t have 4 firewalled nodes back-to-back
-why do we have to click “claim reward” in Agency now? Why isn’t it just auto-redeemed like it used to be? I think this is actually causing some of my kills to not count
-SKINS for only a few ships
-seems like what you need to build the Augmented Drones doesn’t drop frequently enough…
-my drones, even when set to aggressive, aren’t automatically engaging the enemy

Hacking:

Definitely alot more challenging, and frustrating if you don’t have a ship that grants a boost to Hacking. The Stratios seems to serve well as a good Hacking ship.

Issue:

I feel like the fact that you have to click “claim reward” for individual categories in the Agency window is causing some of your kills to be ignored, which means the event takes longer to complete…why was this system implemented? The auto-redeem system the way the Agency used to work was perfectly fine!

I hate clicking on get reward so gave up after getting enough accelerators until they expire to further my training.

Shame too I liked the hacking I never did alot of hacking but this event got me into it.

There is a timer, if hacking takes too long the BS will despawn upon arrival.

Hi there,
I’ve enjoyed this repeat iteration of a Rogue Drone event -

I liked in particular the hacking and salvaging aspects - although the event itself was fun overall. The wait time for respawn was also just about right, removing the need to wait about for too long …

My dislikes were few - As the other poster has said, I too found the drop rate for the salvaging part of the site to be too low to be of any use within a reasonable timeframe. This has led to many sites not having the salvaging aspect completed, leaving wrecks visible in the directional scanner … I’d suggest a variable figure for the Drone parts, lower for the higher values …
Also, the claim reward feature in the agency window is somewhat irritating, as it detracts from the serious business of popping drones, and it is very possible to miss out on some kills if you are not concentrating …
Nevertheless - I was able to achieve some 2400+ points (from memory) which is more than double the amount required for the biggest agency prize … So how about some bigger prizes next time ?

I have only two issues with it, there is no autocomplete of event tasks and accelerators were too many, didnt hold price at all. Should be dropping a lot less. In my oppinion.

Ah, and salvaging part was a bit too hard…

I think the accelerators are for new players - they should drop often as this will help new players the most. I agree on salvaging - once again it punished those with lower skills.

I thought the event was ok for the most part. Having to click ‘Claim Reward’ in order to complete each Agency task was not user friendly and made the whole ordeal very monotonous.

As for salvaging the boss rat, it was very time consuming and didn’t seem to be based on skill level.

The Agency ship skin rewards should have actually been packages, with each package containing a ship skin, some boosters, an accelerator along with some of the materials required to produce the drones.

I used the acc training to train salvaging to V finally (off spec), just managed it in time a couple days before event was over. Even with salvager II it was hard … and the reward was some worthless crap. So effort/reward was skewed.

But in general I like having many professions useful and combined in the events, and looking forward to the acc blueprints next time … with this also new players learn how all of New Eden is connected in the sandbox.

IMO many more resources should be invested into the sandbox event system than into this instanced out-of-EvE Abyss crap.

From your post, it seemed like you’re aware the Rogue Drone event repeats, can you clarify how often? I haven’t played since 2006 and I only started playing again, maybe 1 1/2 months ago. So a lots changed, expansions, NURF’s, etc.
