Those things are such BS. I went in with scourges and a Calm Exotic filament with 176dps cruiser. Not great but with a HVM salvo I should have been doing around 400 a salvo. Total damage with each salvo…36.

Wrong filament, buddy.
This thread is/was about the old Reindeer filaments that would warp you out into a random nullsec system.
The filament you’re talking about are Abyssal filaments which send you into an Abyssal pocket.
Also, 36 a volley with Heavy Missiles sounds pretty correct. Heavy Missiles have a very bad time applying their damage, especially against Frigates which have a very small Signature Radius, and thus take less damage. You were better off using Rapid Light Missiles in a Cruiser. You will almost never do the full damage that’s shown on your Fitting window because Application and Resistances will reduce the total damage you deal.
