Hey, capsuleers!
I am a newbie (2kk sp, 5 days in the game). Though, I have 2 years experience in Eve Echoes, so I’m not new to the game concept and mechanics.
Being expierenced and quite lucky (I was scanning event data sites), I managed to farm 1.2kkk Isk in the past 3 days (after completing SOE epic questline).
I bought and fitted (considering my skills) an astero, navy vexor, gnosis, gila and a praxis.
The rest I spent on injections. (I could farm for omega, but for now injections seem more sustainable way for character skill progression)
Though, I want to move on. What shall I do next? Just scanning for more and more isk to get closer to maxing my skills seems a bit boring. PVP - too early with my skill set. PVE - out of highsec i am seemingly gonna die too fast from a random orthrus or a ridiculous catalyst gang)
So, I wanna find a corp, as the only possible way of further game progression and having fun. The problem is that I can’t play regularly or at exact time every day, what is a redflag for any corp recruiteer (when I was a corp officer and did recruiting, I considered that a reason to decline a guy that wants to enter the corp).
Is there anyone whose corp is ok with that? Or which one (or which other progression way) would you advise?
Thanks
Welcome to the real EVE!
This won’t be an issue, at least it’s not an issue in mine.
I can be logged off for months or join three strategic fleets in a row when I have time. The alliance wants people to show up for fleets when possible of course, but nothing is mandatory.
Other groups may have their own activity requirements and expectations, you can probably find a group that fits for you.
By the way, if you are injecting SP as Alpha have you looked at daily Alpha injectors? I believe they are cheaper per SP than regular injectors, but restricted to Alphas only.
Ofc I use Alpha Injectors too, they were the thing i bought when i got isk right away
Btw what would you suggest to do next? Is it worth leaving highsec to nulls?
What would you do afterward?
Maybe any game progression or a corp?
Joining a group can be a fun next step!
Newbie-friendly corps will likely have some Alpha-friendly ships as well so you can join their fleets and have fun in fleet pvp. It’s one of the better parts of the game in my opinion.
You could also try other things to earn ISK than exploration. Exploration is good, but variation keeps things fun. While you won’t get the better mining ships or planetary industry as Alpha player you could try gas huffing in a Venture, which pays pretty well and is available to Alphas I think. Or faction warfare.
This is not a red flag. In fact, I would consider the opposite a red flag (person doesn’t have a life nor friends). EVE is not a job. You play when you play. I have never in my EVE history (since 2009) met a corp that has such a requirement. Most corps want you to be active on a monthly basis and consistently take part in alliance/corp fleets. Both of which are reasonable expectations.

Why mining asteroids or gas on alpha at all?
Scanning seems more profitable + there is no point in anything less that omega-accessible retriever
any corp you would suggest?
I wouldn’t mine asteroids as Alpha, profits are too low.
But gas pays well as it isn’t as much multi-boxed as the rest of mining in EVE.
The problem with gas is that you need to find it first by scanning. Since you are scanning already for relic and data sites you will likely also come across gas too every now and then. Bookmark it, bring a Venture and get the gas out. It pays well.

I can’t suggest any corp. I don’t do promotion for any of them.
What I suggest for you to do – is to decide where you want to be based in EVE. Do you like/are intrigued by wormhole space? Do you want to live in nullsec? Low sec? (There’s also Pochven and Thera, but those are highly advanced spaces that require a lot of experience and know-how to move in to). That is the single most important determinant in looking for a corp – the space they are based in.
Once you know your preference with that then it’s just looking at various corps in the area (there is a recruitment section here on the forums as well) and decide based on the activities they are engaged in and the timezones they play.
Don’t bother with high sec corps – everything you can do in a high sec corp, you can do better on your own. And high sec corps usually stagnate, I don’t see much point in making a corp and living in high sec.
Also – sometimes you just run into people while playing EVE and you might find an interesting group of guys to join that way was as well. Keep your eyes open.
Try having a look at WormLife wormholes - reasonably safe locations, but you can scan down all sorts of mining, combat and hacking sites, plus links to other wormhole systems for a little light PvP
