I couldn’t tell you how many battleships or cruisers i have scattered around space, because i make money running missions for other people, its easier to have those ships scattered about.
An example: I like flying logi in null sec, so I do have multiple T2 logi cruisers to fly in shield capchain fleets (Basi <3) or without capchain (Scimitar), or in the occasional armour capchain (Guardian). We don’t fly armour often so I didn’t get an Oneiros yet. As I’ve had fights at different places, I had multiple Scimitars and a spare Basilisk in different stations that I can quickly travel to using an interceptor or jump clones. And then there is the cheap T1 Ospreys and Scythes that I grab for small fights around the house, and a few extra fits that are experiments for the standing fleet. And I think I still have a couple armour t1 too.
I easily hit that number of ‘12 cruisers’ for personal non-hoarding use and that’s with logistics ships alone. Add ships for other purposes and you’ll see that it isn’t strange to have filled hangars without hoarding for hoarding purposes.
Now if I had 50 of the same ship, then things would require adifferent explanation. Probably a simple explanation though, like “I want to hand these out to newbies in my next fleet” or “I bought a set of spares because I regularly lose this ship” or “I do industry, I made them”.
Just because someone has a lot of ships, doesn’t mean there is a hoarding problem.
Like some other guy, who said people were griefing his RL dad who’s a senior and should be ashamed of it.
Ignoring that it doesn’t matter … how were they supposed to know?
We need a section for “personal” bios in our character profiles, as well as special tags to appear in the overview, so that other players know about any real-life statuses/issues/handicaps we have before they choose to attack us. For example, other players should be aware that I’m an ethnic disabled queer feminist retired veteran who is battling cancer and has a learning disorder. That way, they won’t shoot me, and will focus on killing healthy, young, white cis males, like they should.
Repeated offenses could qualify as discrimination/persecution and punished via ban and contacting the player’s local authorities for civil action.
But I’m not unreasonable: these players should also have a toggle setting that allows them to show that they’re fine with being attacked, et cetera. Then they’re treated as regular players.
