When you mouse over an Upwell structure it will tell you if it is a low power/abandoned, it’s name and in brackets, how many online characters are currently docked in it.

I mean i feel your pain and i agree ccp should have fixed this long ago as the mechanics ONLY benefit the gankers and there is limited recourse a pilot has in high sec to defend themselves, so its one sided BS for sure, HOWEVER, it has been like this since forever (17 years), so you should have known better and planned accordingly or accepted your loss as YOUR fault. Never fly what you cant afford to lose has been the saying since day 1 that i have played anyway ('04).
I do hope CCP change these mechanics though they are ridiculous and always have been.

Bounties are strange things, or rather, some of the reasons people place bounties seem counter-intuitive.

A message to the OP never fly a freighter through Uedama with anything over 300mill in loot, your gonna get popped. Transfer loot piecemeal use a blockade runner with a covert ops cloaking device and never autopilot. Only way your going to be safe especially in high-sec, and running through the pipes towards Jita, or Perimiter.
Yeah I get it.
Just one more jagged edge removed from the game. The more it happens, the more the game heads towards a flat, boring, plain.
So hopefully they bring them back again, but I have my doubts.
