Please read the first 10 posts, sir. In those you only find mild ignorance (by me, till I got educated on recent EVE-changes), and good natured feedback. After that, several people painted me with words like “fraud”, “Whiner” etc.
So yeah, Im so sorry I responded in kind (A little sarcasm, but not entirely). But honestly, try and be a little more just in your arguments, sir. It really aint fair, that it all suddenly falls on the one that was the target of these remarks.
Yep, sure are many oppinions. And you got one too, I see. Whats the issue? Ofc we got oppinions. Question is: How do we filter out the bullcrap from the genuine content, when most posts (after the discourse became personal) is about semantics and not content? I certainly often find myself in online debates, where some people take everything you say 100% literal. Where the motive was figurative. Or just a simple generalization. And in this thread it seems to be the same problem.
Ive tried to appologize for any words that might have sounded wrong, to some here. And just got more posts about how I lack communicative skills etc. lol. So yeah, had I known, that the topic WAS a can of worms, I probably wouldnt have made the thread.
Although the fact that its a can of worms, also underlines my point, that the community have many things wrong with it. Like having an enlightened discussion about something in the game.
We all come from different cultures, language-backgrounds, age-groups and demographics etc. The people in here, that constant ly shout at my choice of words, rather than on the content, think that Im really trying to sound smart. Just because my Licht-number might be a bit high (although I admit, in English Im still a Padawan Learner!). And because I use sarcasm. My culture (Scandinavian), ARE very ironic and sarcastic. As are the British people. Americans, I find, usually have little or NO concept of sarcasm, and often become very irrate and take it very personal, when confronted with it.
We all have our culture-flaws, idioms and backgrounds, so lets at least not assume, that we can all communicate perfectly. I know that I sometimes can make people angry, because they cant seem to anger me, and that I DO tend to ridicule people back, when they start to act like that. Its probably not a good thing lol. But the Anti-bully in me, really hates Bullies hehe. And that part of me, wants to revel in their shame, publicly. Not something Im proud of lol. But maybe that wouldnt happen, if said can of worms, didnt exist? If the initial dialogue wasnt derailed by yellow and Jenn etc.?
Another issue is this: When people take single words Ive used, out of context. Like they say, I started being very personal, when in fact, that first happened later on in the thread etc. So yeah, it works both ways. Ill take responsibility my sarcastic utterings, if they take responsibility for starting the derailing of the thread, by changing focus from the content of WHAT I say to the WAY I say it. But I hardly see that happening. Prove me wrong.
