Forsaken Fortress – Coming 26 May

And to add to this, I imagine there’s a thousand low powered Athanors out there, as moon mining was nerfed down, and the owners just don’t mine that useless moon go atm, that can’t even be compressed. But still awaiting that “TBD” date when CCP will let them know if moon mining will be worthwhile to pick up again. And now they’ll have to put in billions of fuel before they know. Or dismantle everything, just to start over again later.

CCP; this is a game, not a job and could you, for once, be less eager to please the loot pinata ganking people who can be online 12 hours per day? But also look to the small time, small corp of casual players, who still wants to build their dream?

I was responding to a player who wrote: “…doing them in some boring sub-cap because there is no point bringing out anything larger than a battlecruiser because of the stupid damage cap.”

This player wants damage caps removed, so Capitals can be used to RF and destroy quickly. N+1 is ofc a winning strategy, MMO game design kind of requires it. But, damage caps (and Aegis sov) have helped give subcaps a role - leading to the complaints.

Game designers have to balance the reinforcement system for use by fleets small AND large; its difficult to make everyone happy.

I really liked this multiplayer feature, sad it could not be implemented for Citadels. Each POS gun was like an independent ship doing its own targeting. CCP was attempting to reduce complexity in the new system. Citadels are like ships that don’t move: ships don’t have a concept of assigning or sharing their guns or drones among multiple players. Would be nice.

How about you use the two brain cells between your ears to actually think, rather than be a pedant and demand other people supply information which you can then pick apart with minutia.
Considering I already explained some of it, and you just pretended my comments didn’t exist, I’m not playing your game, I’m just going to sit in the corner and play the worlds tiniest violin for your crying over moon fields not giving a perfect balance of minerals for production now.

get or buy an ingame friend or get or buy fuel for 1 month ahead if this is the problem.

If a small group doesn’t like the recent moon ore changes as it affected them, it would probably be best to pull athanors down now and save the ISK. Then gamble just before the rumored “redistribution” phase starts, when it might not matter WHAT moon you randomly take.

We have to get through a harsh scarcity phase, before the next set of changes is revealed.
Today’s worthless moons could become valuable, and vice versa. A large group is still likely to scan the moon and cause problems for a small group - but for a short time and depending how often things get redistributed, small groups could get a chance at a piece of the pie.

I am testing you … guess. I have highlighted a hint in your original post.

Thank you ever so much! How kind of you to wish me bad fortune in real life. I, of course, wish you all the best in real life.

So what? How ■■■■■■■ important is eve stuff if your real life lies in taters? We have thousands of these “I am leaving ■■■■■■■■ posts”. I treat them all the same. They should ■■■■ off quietly.

Actually THIS player wants damage caps removed so I don’t have to waste so much time shooting useless, undefended, bullsh!t structures.

i.e. citadel spam…that is literally everywhere.

For me personaly it’s a sad day because after reading this update I came to the realisation that this update is going to be the final nail in my EVE career/coffin.
I play this game as a +40yo parent who likes to do mainly industry and see EVE as a fun way to escape RL and I do this since 2009 with multiple account.
Due to my work and being a single parent I can’t play all the time and the time I do play I prefer to play alone. I don’t want to join groups (anymore) because of many reasons.
Sometimes I can’t play for a month or two but I always come back.

After initially being forced out of my industry POSes I’m now the owner of multiple structures and having them online is not always needed/profitable.
Some of them however have multibillion rigs and after this “Forsaken Fortress” update a few carriers/dreads can wipe out these structures, in a single run and they can do that in minutes.

Then there is the removal of the asset safety option for ‘abandoned’ structures and a lack of defence possibilities in general for the structures.
Structures already have a 0.0% chance of survival if attacked by even a few ships.
For me this all lowers the RiskReward and Return Of Investement to below zero.

And instead of relaxation by playing this game it all will be converted into (more)stress and (more)frustration by losing everything I build in 11 years of EVE….in a few minutes.

I understand that the mainbase of EVE players will be happy with this update so they can pewpew with a higher chance of getting nice loot but single player industrialists like me will be forced out this way.

The least CCP should do IMO is to tweak this update by extending the period before going into ’abandoned’ state from 1 week to 3-6 months and or make an option that rigs can be removed like Strategic Cruisers can do.

not really no.

i lol’d, obvious troll is obvious; who in their right mind would put structures up in an area where capitals can be used then leave them for a month or two with no fuel?? That would be pure lunacy, especially as you can fit enough fuel in them for that period.

Its pretty simple, consolidate, and keep your structures powered. I know when I had any production going its a pretty simple matter to log in once a month, fuel up and make sure there is a stash left.

As long as your structures are powered, asset safety is still a thing.

7 days is a bit short though lmao, 2 or 3 weeks would be better; i thought it was at 4 weeks tbvh - with only one week is there really any point in having low power?

PS recently lost a citadel myself :frowning:

forgot to pick it up after i unanchored it loool

Low Power is also forced on structures on their hull timer.

is there a reason for that?

Anyway point is i have parked my bike in a place longer than a week, it hardly constitutes being abandoned as such.

Good change though no lie +100

It allows you to inflict hardship on the owner by shutting down their production etc, without having to blow the structure up.

That said, I’m on board with a 2 or 3 week abandoned timer, 1 week does feel incredibly short.

Awesome! You go ahead and stay in your corner where the adults in the room can ignore you, then.
