and for those whining saying “what about this or what about that, RL situations”
always have a back up plan, and have a back up plan for the back up plan. Don’t keep all your eggs in one ■■■■■■■ basket if its not an NPC station.

So your answer is either, don’t get hit by a car or don’t use citadels. Great game mechanics 10/10 solid plan.
I just re-read the page, I think I misinterpreted corporation assets to mean assets of corporation members.
Still though, I don’t see your idea of ‘trolling a structure to abandoned’ being possible. All the owning group has to do is ensure it gets refueled every so often, and given how tether mechanics work that’s absurdly easy even under a camp.
Did i say either one? No. Unfortunate situations happen. But having plans in place, for some unfortunate event like getting laid off unexpectedly or getting put in jail, having a back up plan for some rare occurance is better than not having any kind of plan at all.

I’m a “veteran player”, I returned in February after a break of over four years, and the main thing that struct me was how cluttered my overview now was from all the structure spam. If this change clears out even half of that ugly crap, especially in high sec, then I’m all for it!
And regarding asset safety: I had a not-small amount of billions worth of assets waiting for me when I returned, things that had been in three citadels in nullsec. I still haven’t bothered to pick any of it up. Granted, if I had a priceless collection of BPOs stashed in a structure and came back to find them gone, I’d probably be upset. But look at it this way; if any priceless BPOs ever drop as loot from an abandoned structure, I figure they’re better off being liberated than continuing to collect digital dust.

How does one have a backup plan for getting hit by a car?
Since you can’t do that the only option remaining is don’t use citadels. So it seems the end goal here is for CCP to encourage people to not use citadels unless they can be on 100% of the time.
Since no one can ever guarantee 100% availability (the current state of the world shows the unknown can happen) that is teach people to not use citadels unless you are in a mega alliance.

Corp level asets should be used by corps. if said corp cant afford 500mil raitaru, they shouldn’t be dropping said raitaru and there is no problem. So not sure what your point is.

You don’t camp the station you camp the gates. Those are much easier to defend from a ship bringing fuel in.
7 Days to go from low power to abandoned feels a bit too soon… what about the idea of changing to 14 days?
No one, not even Goons can keep all a system’s gates camped 24/7 for months. And even if they could, then you use a cloaky-nully T3C and cyno in as fuel truck or an actual cyno for a JF.
