Hey capsuleers,
I’ve been playing EVE for about 3 weeks now and loving it. So much so that I got three of my Star Citizen friends to try it out. We’re a group of guys in our 30s–40s, with a bit of disposable income, and we were excited to dive into the game together.
Last night while we were all on Discord, one of my friends suddenly got disconnected. When he tried logging back in, he got this message:
“Banned pending investigation. Permanently banned for breach of the EULA.”
This was after only 11 total logins.
Here’s why we’re confused:
- He’s brand new — doesn’t know how to multibox, doesn’t use macros or bots.
- No RMT whatsoever.
- He spent about $100 on packs (I helped him pick them).
- He hasn’t received any email from CCP explaining the ban.
- He’s submitted two support tickets and is (understandably) upset at the lack of response.
So I’m turning to the community to ask:
- Has anyone else seen this happen to a new player before? Could this be an automated mistake?
- Is there a CCP rep lurking here who could help escalate this? We’ve read support can take weeks/months, and this experience is crushing his enthusiasm for the game.
Happy to DM a CCP dev his account name if needed.
Thanks in advance,
