Frippyy for CSM 20 - Nullsec's New Kid On The Block

Hello Everyone, my name is Frippyy and I am running once again for CSM.

I’m the CEO of the Nullsec corp R3B3LLIUM in Get off my Lawn.

Like many of you reading this, EVE is a significant part of my life and I want to give back to this wonderful community by representing YOU as a member of CSM20. I am eager to maintain the quality of EVE and its community by listening to and spreading the voices of the players so that YOU can have your voice heard!

My campaign this year is for the improvement of SOV-Nullsec, Industry in all areas of EVE, Highsec mission running and some overall quality of life changes to help every EVE player regardless of position, allegiance or location.

My EVE Online Story

I have been playing EVE Daily since March 2024, Now you may be thinking that 18 months of play time and experience is insufficient to run for CSM however in these glorious past 18 I have been entranced by EVE, the community of this game is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before and the relationship of corpmates and alliances are akin to family.

76 days into playing EVE I joined Karma Fleet in Delve and during my time there I learned a great many things from the wonderful and knowledgeable members of KF.

One of which is how EVE is as much about the social interactions and diplomacy as it is making or blowing ships up. With this in mind, and some minor encouragement, I ran for CSM19 (Links to the post and podcasts at the bottom of this post).

During this time I started streaming EVE over on my Twitch doing PVP roams, faction warfare and Level 4 mission running in Highsec. Which really expanded my knowledge of the game from just SOV-Nullsec.

In February I Left Karma Fleet and Created my own corporation R3B3LLIUM alongside some of my faction warfare buddies. A month of growing and forming ourselves later I moved my corp into the wonderful alliance, Get off my Lawn, where we remain today.

Since being in LAWN not only has R3B3LLIUM grown into a prospering industrial corporation with a love for PVP, I have become a Fleet commander and Diplomat for LAWN.

As an FC for LAWN I have Ran Dozens of strategic operations ranging from defending friendly structures / SOV hubs to destroying hostile fleets and structures alike.

My Areas of Expertise, Knowledge and Unique Qualities
My main areas of expertise are:

  1. PVP - This involves the organisation of small and large fleets, solo PVP and ship fitting for all types of PVP purposes.

  2. Leadership and Management skills - As both a Nullsec CEO and Alliance FC / Diplomat I have developed and improved on my ability to clearly communicate with other team members and bring forth points and argue my case, for example within monthly CEO meetings i advocate for improvements at the alliance level.
Being a CEO has taught me the valuable skill of negotiation which I believe is a paramount skill for a CSM as well as being able to create and manage large scale projects.

  3. Idea Projection - In my time as an eve twitch streamer I have spoken to thousands of players new and old, I have also built a community of just under 600 people who frequently discuss the game and ask questions. During these conversations as well as within my corporation/alliance comms, I have listened to many player’s ideas for what they would like to see implemented or changed.
Being a streamer allows me to vocalise the ideas of every player and broadcast your voice to the rest of the community. Its one thing to Listen, but to vocalise the voices of the many is an invaluable tool.

So What Can You Expect From Me As A CSM20 Member?

If elected as a CSM20 I would do all I could to progress and improve the experience of all players new and old by spreading the voices of all I speak to and making sure that progress can continue in Nullsec’s development as an almost living body. In EVE, community means everything which is why I would put the community first and do everything I my power to help and support all.

Whether you are an Indy fanatic or PVPer I have your back regardless of playstyle because we are all EVE players.

The Campaign:
The areas I will focus on during the course of my CSM20 campaign involves both my own ideas and those of corp/alliance members, twitch viewers and the wider community. this includes but is not limited to:

  1. In order To Improve the current state of Ratting and Mission running I propose increasing the bounties in combat anomalies by 10% (excluding CRAB Beacons) to fit with the games current economy as well as scaling the ISK and LP gained from completing agent missions in all areas of space to the players standing with said agents faction at a rate of 5% per standing Level (e.g. a player with a standing of 4.0 will get 5% more ISK and LP per mission completion than a player with a 3.0 standing) and finally change the interference map mechanic to only activate after an entire CRAB beacon has been used.
  2. Revamping certain areas of industry by reducing the Planetary Industry components by 10% for all Navy issue and T2 subcapitals making ship production like what it used to be, as well as reducing the amount of exploration loot required in building the regular/enhanced Neurolink protection cells by 5% helping bring down the cost and effort of capital ship manufacturing. To help industrialists outside of wormholes, the introduction of rare spawn scannable wormhole gas anomalies in Nullsec systems. Add a “compress all ore” button to allow for a smoother mining experience.
  3. To keep Nullsec PVP fresh I think skyhook raiding mechanics should be reversed to how they initially were as this is a great content generator and gives small and large groups more targets/content creation opportunities. It also brings back a secondary objective in each SOV-Nullsec system other than the ESS. Buff mobile observatories by increasing the chance of decloak to 60% from 40% and disallow decloaked ships to recloak for 5 mins or a session change (e.g. change systems or dock up)
  4. Carriers can assign fighters again and also use heavy fighters, increase bandwidth to use more fighters & having fighters pre nerf (e.g. chase enemies if they warp off). This would also incentivise carrier ratting.
  5. To help counter the recent marauder nerfs, introduce a T2 bastion module that adds bonuses to neuts/scrams/webs/ecms.
  6. some Highsec tweaks such as keeping Highsec agent’s level 5 missions in Highsec and introducing R8 moons into certain Highsec systems (0.7 and below).

Finally jump freighters are brilliant however for large scale move ops there is room for improvement such as more cargo capacity either by increasing the base cargo hold size or an extra low slot for a cargo hold expander. Another way to improve jump freighters and other jump capable ships would be to create a set of implants that reduces jump fatigue and a set that reduces fuel consumption when jumping available from the ORE and CONCORD LP stores.

As previously stated the above ideas are my own as well as from fellow corp and alliance members as well as my twitch community.
Saying this I talk to many people about their views on the current state of the game and I want to hear from you too!

Feel free to post questions or thoughts on this post, I also accept in game messages, respond to Evemails and Discord DMs, so please feel free to reach out and give me your two pence on EVE as I’d love to hear what you think.

CRAB interference showing up on the map should be removed entirely. Right now the only people really running them are those under a strong super umbrella, because anyone else start so just die before finish. Attackers just open the map and instantly know which systems are safe to hit. Without this mechanic, more players outside umbrellas would actually risk running them in both null and low, and hunters would have to actively search instead of just waiting for the map to ping them.

Personally I completely agree because the interference mechanic takes all the skill out of crab hunting. I think it should be completely removed, as to allow smaller nullsec alliances who don’t have a capital umbrella to run beacons with a higher probability of success.

Yes it will become obvious after a while what systems are being crabbed in but you can rotate it and what not to counter it.

It also allows the hunters to have more of a sense of achievement for finding crabbers.

love you too baby cakes

So you want to increase inflation by 10% and extremely devalue LP and LP store items by increasing LP from missions and allowing L5s in hisec…

Long term this won’t increase income, cause the price of everything will adjust, and at 10% more ISK it will just get worse and worse over time. No wonder CCP doesn’t listen to the CSM.

Hello, this is a fair but po point. however i don’t think a 10% increase in ratting bounties will skyrocket inflation nor will a increase in rewards at a scaling level relative to your standings with the agent. this rewards long term mission runners and creates an incentive for more people to do them. yes this may dilute the LP store in the short term, however things can be adjusted if required.

I also don’t see the harm in bringing Level 5 missions to highsec, however if you have a formulated reason opposing that I’d love to hear it.

Just a reminder CCP is the biggest driver of inflation is this game which has a far larger impact than any player could ever do.

Now I would love to hear what you have to say and feel free to reply to this message.

have a good day.

  1. 10% is a lot larger than you seem to believe, according to the Auguest MER about 42.2T ISK was generated just through bounties alone in August. Another 10% is another 4.2T ISK added to the economy every single month. That’s 50.6T ISK every year. That will cause the price of everything to inflate at faster pace than it currently is.

  2. An increase in LP rewards will reduce the value of LP. If missions reward more LP than mission runners will be able to purchase and sell more items from the LP store. As supply of these items increase the value will drop, this is basic economics. We do not need to make bling cheaper.

  3. L5 missions generate ludicrous amounts of LP. According to this reddit post(2 months of running L5 missions) each mission in a 0.2 will reward around 100K LP with 50-70K for blitzable missions. Obviously the rewards will be lower in hisec due to higher security status but they will still be extreme in a 0.5. Risk vs reward exists for a reason, risk vs reward is the reason why L5s are lowsec exclusive and ought to remain lowsec exclusive. They are already too safe thanks to strategies listed in that reddit post, they do not need to become even safer.

  4. “CCP is the biggest driver of inflation” complety worthless point. You are literally asking CCP to act as that driver for inflation by amplifying the amount of ISK every single player creates every time they kill a rat.

Hello Frippyy, first of all good luck with your campaign :flexed_biceps: …and may the best will win ofc :sports_medal:
(I will great every candidate this way  )

Hope you find time to share your thoughts on below topics and game ideas.

1. EVE Vanguard
Have you had an occasion to try it during Operation Nemesis or earlier? What was your impression if any?

What do you think about bidirectional connection planned with EVE Online? Do you see it has a potential to attract more players towards New Eden? And do you think Capsuleers will benefit from it?

2. Information & ISK itemization
How about being able to take a notes from your notepad and put it as an item into container or ship cargo? Same with an amount of ISK? Just like you can do with PLEX.

More details https://forums.eveonline.com/t/information-itemization-put-notes-into-cargo-containers

Would you pitch CCP to consider implementing it?

3. Production Plans
Basically the idea behind this is to bundle all the BPOs (BPCs), required to produce some final product, say, an assembled Drake fully fitted according to some saved fit ready for duty, into a single BPO-like item, and internally arranged into an intricate production workflow. Complete with logistics tasks, if necessary, using delivery corp projects. It could use BPMN diagram editor to arrange.

When installed into industrial job slot it will churn out those Drakes, provided there are required materials in linked containers or pause until they are become available again.

More details https://forums.eveonline.com/t/feature-request-production-plans

Would you pitch CCP to consider implementing it? Or at least expand ESI to allow 3rd party developers to do it?

I sat down for a second interview with Frippyy! I’ve got to say, a lot changed between his CSM19 and 20 candidacy! Check out his interview to have a listen!

Best of luck Frippyy!
