The beam should make it visible to everyone that this miner chooses their own yield over the efficiency of the group. That should make it much easier to detect (and kill!) rogue miners.
Also the reactions when you equip the type C crystal to mine valuable moon ore… it’s much more interesting when everyone immediately sees who’s intentionally ‘destroying’ the asteroids!
