Not so much players in NPC Corps, but if CCP make it so NPC mining fleets are using high waste crystals, that will be very CCP.
Iām loving what Iām reading with the exception that the Mackinaw really needs a little bit more fitting.
Still not enough to have me come back to the game.

Can we now put this to bed, and not F with this game mechanic for another 20 years. Start developing content again!
Its disgusting and embarassing that CCP no longer use their own forums to interact with the players.
This place should be the first place they post to.
@CSM donāt you think that CCP should interact with their players on the first platform new players will think about looking at?
Hey.
I can see how these upcoming changes are really going to help production. But how are these changes going to benefit your average miner? Increased supply will surely result in decreased prices. The introduction of wastage will result in spending more on faction modules or take further losses on mining yield. The changes to drone yield will increase mining time required.
Am I right in thinking that the average miner is now going to need to mine for significantly longer to earn the same amount of isk? Isk / hr in anything mining related is surely going to take a nose dive!?
Nice touch on the drone mining animation change!
Simple question: Why nerf the procurer?
The nerf to new broās might need a look at, tweak maybe ?
Nerf to Rorqās will mean less of them in space, so thatās also a PvP nerf, the Rorqās that will be out will now be massively tanked making them even harder to kill.
Less Rorqās is a whaling fleet nerf
The proper fit is determined by the intent of the pilot. Someone mining three jumps away from Jita should probably get as much EHP as possible. Someone mining in some obscure pocket in Khanid space that gets 10 visitors a day can probably go for yield.
Most barges, especially the T1 versions, are getting a light-to-moderate improvement to their maximum tank potential. The only one that is being straight-up nerfed in terms of EHP is the Procurer (and probably for good reason, considering it barely costs anything and currently has the EHP of a battleship, which would make it a ridiculously OP combat ship with its new drone bonus). Iām not seeing how youāre getting a Hulk EHP reduction.
Once again, donāt get me wrong, I am neither praising nor complaining about the changes. Iām only saying that the changes seem to be driven by the desire to get people to create more alt accounts instead of the desire to boost any particular play style against others.
So it looks like between the Rorqual and Orca thereās 66 different Mobile Compression Modules. To compress every type of ore in a rorqual requires you to have 19 of these modules. Feels just a wee bit overkill lol
On the plus side, we will get all that SP back when they remove the processing skills, and actually put the SP in to something useful now that mining is dead.
it was hard for the shity pirtas of safety (formerly alts of panfan and goons) too gank in ice belts
I mine with 1 orca, 1 freighter and x skiffs.
Iāll do ice when available and ore the rest of the time.
I compress at a player station where available or refine at an NPC station when not, then pay RFF to haul to Jita.
Soā¦
My Skiffs have lost their tank and speed, leaving me even more open to gankers.
My Orca can still be bumped out of boosting range and now has a possible fuel cost.
My freighter can still be bumped out of use.
I will lose product when mining.
I will lose product if compressing.
If anyone mines the same rock or ice as me and they are using t1 stuff Iāll be crying.
Anyone putting a mining drone in an ice belt will basically destroy my day.
Dropping an MTU will have it killed instantly by everyone else in the area (err, thats still the same).
A bot with 10 Orcaās isnāt going to leave if their yield drops, theyāll just field more Orcaās.
Thereforeā¦
I will stop boosting everyone that isnāt me.
My skiffs will probably lose their mining rigs and mining low slot items so I can get some tank back, slowing down my mining (you canāt stop hi-sec ganks just increase the number of ships needed to take you down).
I wonāt fit a compressor to my Orca and will refine at NPC stations 100% of the time (with taxes in some citadels this is always easier and youāre not giving the competition money).
I will cry as the Orca fleets will still be there, just with their drones now disintegrating everything they touch.
I will still not care about Rorquals, sold my last one years ago.
I will still not have any interest in going back to Null.
As I have my new delving tools probably go off to Gundabad and not return.
Conclusionā¦
As far as I can tell I will be easier to be ganked, probably have less goods to sell and the extra ore/ice is meaningless as the Orca fleets drones will destroy it before I can get to it.
Iām not sure if I missed the explanation of waste and havenāt had a chance to get on SiSi.
For example, on a Strip Miner, you have a base yield of 675m3, a waste multiplier of 1, and a waste probability of 100%. How much waste is actually generated?
Are there skills/implants/modules that reduce any of this, or just upgrade to bling mining gear so you get ganked more?
Rearranging deckchairs on the Titanic is probably the most appropriate metaphor here. Was hoping for passive sun mining to fight over, not these minor tweaks and this clearly isnāt an end to Scarcity.
If rorqs are going to disappear and supercap ratting isnāt really happeningā¦ What exactly are CCP hoping for people to go whaling for? On the flipside, that means there wonāt be a stream of defence pings all night for people to get content and less escalations.
Bit of a nothing update.
@CCP_Rattati please read up on the Greg Street philosophy of game design. Fun first.
Something to note, Drones need to have reduced waste in the same way the mining turrets do. t2 34% faction 0, no sense in not dying the 2 together, if u wanted to make it t2 50% augs 25% and ex 0, thats fine but it makes no sense to leave drones in that state.
- T2 Drones should have the same waste as T2 modules.
- Faction mining drones should be implemented as LP rewards in each factionās āmining/industryā LP stores, with a waste of 0.
Overall, the changes seem to be at first glance a āless ore per cycle, but more mineable ore gatheredā mentality - which means more time spent mining for the same ārewardsā. As is, these changes should increase the prices of ships and mods as time is also a component of what makes up the cost of items.
Hopefully there will be mining specialty skills which decrease the waste generated (20% less waste per level).
