From Extraction to Production

So back in the day, when the Rorqual sat in a POS and gave out boosts to whomever was in fleet and was capable of compressing the ore that was delivered to it. CCP had an inspiration too change mining. This was the start of years of failure on their part to bring about useful fair changes. At the time one toon that had a Rorq would setup and give boosts to the whole fleet of hulk, coverters etc. They said oh that was too much of a an advantage. Then they changed the rorq so he had to be on field with the miners, that didnt really work to slow mining down, then they changed the rorq again and again and again. CCP are you that brain dead to keep doing the same thing over and over and continuing to fail at it, loose customers by doing it you are not improving the game for the players that mine. Your main mantra states " Empowering players with freedom, choice & success " maybe its time you did that. Quit destroying the game for so many. Or at least have the balls too tell us you dont want our gameplay style in your game anymore we can probably find another.

Hey will the waste crystals have a different beam color? I want people to make it obvious to people that I’m wasting “their” resources.

Uhh, No, no you’re not.

Because if you were, you’d know that the 4.50 pack is 110 plex. Which isn’t enough for a month.

so all barges still yield less then a rorq currently does, even with future rorq boosts?

Or in simple words, the maximum yield per character is less?

Ahh, the core of it:

“my rorq is nerfed! waaaaa”

What I’m seeing here is simple and straight-forward. Pearl Abyss doesn’t see any value in people mining.

PA wants more people to buy plex to convert to ISK, and more Omega subscribers. Therefore let’s make sure every player who wants to do mining/indy will be required to have an army of alts - all Omega. Let’s also be sure to make it look like newer players can do this, but actually make sure no fleet wants them mining because of the waste mechanic - so they need to go to Omega and buy skill injectors. And let’s make sure that they lose 10% (minimum) of their mining haul just to compress (much more for ice, etc.).

Oh. and let’s also ensure that mining ships are even easier to gank in all security space - even highsec. Because suicide gankers keep making new accounts, and that means more plex bought. And before any of the salt miners jump in, yes, Eve is a PvP game and I said “easier to gank”. I take the chance when I undock that you brought enough firepower to kill me before I can get out or you get CONCORDokken. It’s already way to easy for the ganker to win, why are they making it easier if not to send a clear message that they don’t want people mining unless they pay large amounts of real-world cash to keep buying mining ships and gear?

And then, to put the cherry on top, let’s continue to trash the in-game economy by driving ship prices higher and higher and higher. After all, if you can’t deal with the inflation by getting more ISK, you’re going to have to buy Plex and sell that in order to afford ships.

Look, I get it. An MMO is a business and needs to make money. There are, however, better ways than to continue to screw any player who actually enjoys mining. Why not get it over with and just remove mining and indy entirely and make the game what the owners seem to desperately want it to be, another P2W MMO? Or make mining/indy it’s own reward with a small amount of ISK for selling your ore and (useless) manufactured items to NPC’s? It’s going to have to happen eventually when the cost of a T1 frigate hits a billion ISK for the hull alone, so why delay the inevitable? Turn production into an NPC thing like it is in every other cash-grab MMO.

And why, CCP, do you let Pearl Abyss continue to force you to explain these changes like they’re a wonderful and good thing for everyone? If you’re after our real-life money - come out and SAY it! Lord knows there are a ton of insanely successful games that have made it clear what they’re after - and those games are still around and still churning out cash for their owners. I don’t hate the changes - I hate that you’re trying to sell them as anything but the cash-grab they are and pretending like we should be thankful for the glorious shafting you just gave us without even the decency to buy us dinner first.

You are losing a ton of respect of high sec Industrials guys here.

CCP’s definition of Mining: Give me all your money and I’ll give you 1 isk worth of ore

Yeah I got the number of PLEX wrong…but the effect is the same…those 110 PLEX convert to about 300m ISK or so and are £4.50. My point is the same…why mine Veldspar for 30 hours or so a week when one can get the same value of ISK in seconds for £4.50. I could think of better things to be doing with 30 hours.

No, he’s gaining it.

He’s losing it from sock puppets who cannot read

Because highsec industrialists really depend on Rorquals. gotcha.

It’s not like they’re flying them. And in the end, they don’t care how their minerals are mined. Or even the cost of them, as everything gets passed onto the client.

it says " All existing crystals will be migrated to their Type A counterparts depending on the tier to which they belong. I would imagine it will be the same for bpos

False dicotomy. Ypu reduce to only affected are rorquals. Getting ice and fuel for core industrial high sec orcas is a waste of time. And procurers nerfed.

Rorquals are not the one affected BADLY. The more affected is high sec. No rorquals.

When the original changes removing prosperity from High Sec (which were a bit generous) gave way to scarcity, I had invested billions in ISK to support that playstyle. I hung out for quite a bit afterwards and kept my 3 accounts active, but only just. Those billions invested were flushed down the toilet and the group that I had so much fun with all but left the game.

Then the blessed day arrives; the end of scarcity is coming! I’ve recently joined a null-sec bloc, got settled, finally bought a Rorqual and started mining in null sec. Woot, finally making some decent isk (since ratting is basically crap with the BRM and all). Might be able to buy an overpriced Super!

Then this update arrives. Billions spent on the Rorgual, fitting it along with excavator drones and now I’m told that a 300 million hulk will outmine my 10 billion dollar Rorgual!?

CCP, you consistently change things that cause trained skills to be wasted, playstyles to be nerfed, and invested ISK to be worth no more than toilet paper flushed away. Did you ever stop to think about the player experience?

I’ve come back to this game a couple of times because I missed it. You’re making the reasons to do so less appealing with every recent change.

CCP should let rorq to be able to mine in highsec since, no more new bro want to mine.
I rather have spreadsheet online rather than a Realworld Money Online

I’m sure a lot of newbros will WANT to mine, but no bittervets are going to let them anywhere near their fleets because of extra waste.

as a ex-newbro i get it, I started mining as a newbro too, and its is want makes me enjoy the game than to find more opportunity like PvE and PVP, mining is the starting point for me

And you will then be mugged by gankers and lose even your 1 ISK worth of ore in your now less well shielded barge. And for the privilege of this, you are paying ÂŁ10 a month for Omega.

totally agree

Who are you kidding, you’ll be paying that much for each of five accounts.
