From Extraction to Production

When will these changes take place on Tranquility?

The maximum mining yield per character has been LOWERED or not?
That means spend more time to get the same amount.

What is double the nothing left for us Procurers after the roaming hordes of Orcas have passed through ? So the pea sized remnants will be double the size ?

To get equal value out of the rock requires more cycles and thus more time unless you go buy more expensive stuff all while all your mining barges and exhumers have received survivability nerfs masked by marginal resist bonuses for some and damage bonuses for others. There are no improvements in this update designed for smaller groups, new players or low budget people. Everything in this update is meant to hurt them and give boons to the people forking out hundreds monthly for their multibox army or massive groups that aren’t going to be nearly as devastated as the smaller groups.

tldr Pay2Win with alt spam or PLEXing for ORE miners only to get ganked by someone in 20mil Catalysts

At the moment the “Mobile Moon Ore Compression” skill is a prerequisite to “Mobile Gas & Ice Compression”. This doesn’t make sense considering that the Moon Ore Compressor is a more specialized piece of equipment (only available to Rorqual).
If I am not flying a Rorqual I gain no benefit from training 3 tanks of moon ore compression and so it shouldn’t be required. It would make more sense to swap the requirement around and make moon ore compression dependent from ice&gas compression

No it hasn’t, so “lowered or not?” = not.

ok wich Exhumer is going to mine as much as the Rorqual used to?

Per cycle is the same, but your rock is dying roughly twice as fast depending on the equipment you are using, which means moving to other rocks more often which then equates to more time spent burning into range, mining more cycles, etc.

Apart from the big multibox mining farmers, everyone is going to be spending more time per belt than before.

Ok here we go again, so this update did introduce some interesting mechanics, after reading the patch notes, I think that this system is in favour of those already space rich that can afford an alt mining fleet.
Why am I saying that? The nerf for the ability to solo mine forces people to create alts and plex them. Those who don’t have that background to adapt to this change, only have one option left - pay for their omega. Other than the solo mining nerf, the new “buff” to the quality and quantity for the belts and anon doesn’t really make sense with the introduction of mining waste and the compression lost. While at first, the 200% buff seems to make sense, in reality, the total ore that’s harvested from that ore, will decrease. First, of course, is the decrease in the player base due to the unprofitable path for new players that want to try, secondly, total won’t didn’t really increase. I know CCP has taken this approach to encourage fleet mining with corp mates, but they forget that most people who actually mines don’t really mine with a real person, but their alts. Furthermore, if you do the maths, then you’ll know that even with the best skills, the overall increase in resources in the new Eden only increased slightly not as much as you think. To address the problem of this update, compression loss is unacceptable. I personally think that the mining loss Is fine with the increase in quantities of overall ores, though the compression is just completely ridiculous. As stated in the patch notes, the process of compression will result in certain losses in material based on the ore that you compress. With the already little increase in mining yield, the compression will just make it even worst than the current phase. And what’s even worst? These mods will only take ores from the ship cargo hold but rather directly from the ore hold. This leaves me thinking why don’t make an interface like the hypernet. where you click the compress mod, open it, pop up an interface like when you create a new hypernet, you drag and drop the ore(limit 5000m3), then activate like a survey scanner, and the processed material will drop into a take only hanger. Btw, whats is the point for type C crystals?

For the Orca change, I personally think that it is a good attempt to introduce the mini siege for the orca, but two things that I would suggest is that shorten the timer to around 30 seconds like the marauders since they don’t have panic mod. The second suggestion is to introduce a panic mod and keep the current siege timer as stated in the last point.

I will update when I changed my opinions after testing further more on sisi or ccp updates

That is speculation that:

  • All ore quantities are doubled in asteroid belts
  • All ore quantities are doubled in all resource anomalies
  • All ice quantities are doubled (in addition to the previous 200% increase)

Means doubling the number of rocks and not doubling the size of rocks. Have you confirmed which one it is?

Also, don’t use 100% guaranteed loss at 1:1 volume. Then mining yields increase compared to now.

What a total load of crap.

Congrats CCP you made a mess of things once again.

Time to move on to Star Citizen

Yeah, I played Elite Dangerous recently, it’s not bad.

Been really impressed with Star Citizen though.

These guys are trying really hard to make a good game.

Why do you think it takes more cycles?

Granted, the T1 crystals have a slightly reduced yeild. But who’d be using a T2 strip, with T1 crystals? Seriously?

Nope. If it’s doubling the amount of rocks you’re actually burning rocks at around 3x as fast with T2 and 4 times as fast with Meta /T1

If its bigger rocks then you’re burning them twice as fast or three times as fast depending on tech level because even though there’s double the amount of ore, you’re burning almost double per tick but only pulling the previous normal.

No, the YIELD is not changed. The environment reaction to your actions did change.

@Steve_Ronuken IF (a big one) people would start using T2 miners… Last I checked, their only benefit is yield, but most often you want range over raw yield, which means T1 or faction miners. And faction is nearing unaffordability. That may change now though if demand would rise significantly.

Should also be noted, that the Type B crystal is slightly higher yield than the regular T1 crystals. Sure, the waste is higher, but it’s still lower than the T1.

do u check the prices of the PLEX ?

Nobody is purchasing plex now. The result will be a player exodus

As a Procurer miner…mainly Veldspar…I am already torn between spending a week sitting there to make about 1 PLEX worth of ore…avoiding gankers and getting bored stiff watching a mining laser and having Serpentis craft have no effect at all on my shields…vs just saying ‘stuff it…’ and just buying the 1 PLEX which costs a mere £4.50 and takes seconds.

If the idea of the updates is to force small independent miners to make that decision, I’ve a good idea how most will decide.
