A Procurer with a single damage control will still be more tanky than a Retriver fit for max tank. My guess is that in their imagination you’re supposed to use ranforced bulkheads (which means you carry less ore) and they were turning the Procurer from “most EHP barge please shield tank” to “most EHP by, please hull tank.” I mean the addition of base HP and low slot seems to suggest a shfit to hull
This is so ironic its not even funny under the context of this update. Either buy more accounts to maintain your current level of progress in EVE or gtfo is all this update is trying to force.
lol no it doesn’t, it just affects everyone else’s depending on whether your flying a billion isk paper thin Hulk with Faction miners, or something less SP and Isk dependent. I think the waste idea could be removed and adjust how refining is done instead, therefore not making newer players useless in mining.
So if the orcas industrial core gives less than 50% boost to stats of the rorquals … Why is its cycle time the same?
Yes, I do.
All Asteroids are being doubled in size.
So, at a bare minimum, compression aside, the ore available in the universe remains constant. This assumes that no-one is using the more efficient T2 equipment. Which is a terrible assumption.
@CCP_Dopamine
Can you please consider giving an option to get a refund for SP and skill books for all mining ships (and mining drones) ? Not just the reprocessing.
End of indy/mining career, a new dawn for a pew pew career.
Thanks,
Bulkheads affected cargo not ore holds. Unless that changed quietly and recently.
Not to my knowledge.
so “oh no, my 450m3 cargo bay has been reduced!”
My corp uses that cargo hold when the ore hold starts to get full to get one more cycle out of mining
Then it falls into:
“Oh no! I have to make a meaningful decision!”
Tank, or one more cycle. Sounds meaningful to me.
You cargo fit your barges? How… odd
What I want to know is…when they reduce the Procurer from 4 mid slots to 2, am I gonna just wake up one day and find some random selection of mid slot modules removed ? And do I get a refund of skills time training for those tier 2 shield extenders ?
I think you need to chill on that, I lost 14k of my Proc buffer tank, but it is still a meaty tank. In any case you will still need to use those skills even with two mids.
NB I see in another thread you did chill about it with the addition of a plate. I think I added a bulkhead. o7
yep, your onto a good point there. If CCP want to retain some of the inevitable mass exodus of Indy players, this is a option
You’re incorrect. Because you fail to take time into consideration, it now takes more time to mine the same amount of ore because either
A. There’s more individual rocks that have to be targeted, in range and mined, which takes time.
B. The rocks have more ore per rock but you still have to mine the entire rock.
In either case the “solution” CCP is selling is more expensive modules, hulls and more accounts. None of this is prosperity or the end of scarcity.
You should really read more yourself.
I just did a few Procurer simulations based on the new slots. I lose some EHP from the reduction in mid slots from 4 to 2…as I have shield extenders there. But I can gain EHP by adding 400mm steel plates in the 1 extra low slot. Overall I lose about 5000 EHP…which for a ship that I already have at over 60,000 EHP is not too bad.
If your not a miner or industrial toon you have no need to comment on anything in here, go jump on some new miners for your jollies .
oh ya and this is CCPs promise " Empowering players with freedom, choice & success " what a load of normal shi t from them.
Strange how an update intended to end scarcity and improve the game is doing the opposite though isn’t it?
uhhhh. What?
You know you get ore per cycle, right? Not just when the rock pops? And you don’t need to empty a rock?
I’m really not seeing what point you think you have here.
Your cycle times haven’t changed. Your yeild for those cycles haven’t changed.
If A was the case (I seriously doubt it will be, considering how the belts work behind the scenes), yes, there’s some more targetting involved. But anyone sensible is already keeping an eye on the ore in the rock, and short stroking the cycles when it’s close to empty.
If it’s B, then there’s just less targetting involved.
