Exactly, there was never any intent of making things “Better”.
Btw Turtle H. Has 8 lifetime kills, 8. One of which is during a recent’ish orca loss in null sec, two are pocos, and one is an ibis. Im not saying you don’t know ■■■■, but it looks like you dont know ■■■■. Even if you are an indy alt.
It did not have 100% yield to begin with.
So, T1 modules netted you 100% of that amount? Sure. So, 100% yield? Sure.
BUT you weren’t getting the same yield per time unit as T2 and proper skills.
Compared to T2 + skills, you were only getting, dummy values, maybe 50%.
Reprocessing shows precisely that: you weren’t in a structure/station with the proper hardware AND you lacked the proper skills? No ~80% reprocessing to you! (or whatever was the maximum possible when reprocessing)
This new mechanic doesn’t change what you get. It changes what youwreck for those around you. :-/
since ccp gives a 200% increase to ore quantity, with the worst mining waste rate(which is one to one, you can only get 50% of what’s inside the ore), the total m3 ore that you yield in a belt won’t change unless you train to T2 miner which you should.
ill start off by touching on the first thing … Why isn’t the test server stocked with all of the crystals and skill books ??? please tell me ??? not to mention you didn’t even have time to add thumbnails to certain modules ? the new crystals look like a 3-year-olds play toy.
Now don’t the meat and potatoes of this so-called update.
why would you ever think faction modules on a barge would be a thing? what will everyone who mines now fly around in 900 mil + isk barges ?
so now there isn’t a single mining barge that cant tank properly? the skiff is still trash, you nuked the producer why !!
nothing you have done here will help motivate any level of production, as a CEO of an indy corp, I can tell you now that all you have done is slow if not halt all production of anything meaningful for well over 8 months and thus we are here.
new players will be destroyed by a majority of the changes, moon mining will be off-limits for all new players, your removing the gas mining bouns to ventures… ok well guess you can say goodby to half of all the new players in the last 6 months.
5 capital ship production is not fixed and wont be by these changes and has been made worse i used to make 4 or 5 caps myself per week now i make 0 why your poor choices.
i am truly worried about the state of the game after this update. i guess when you meant the ability to choose what you mine meant I can sit with my boys make no money and mien astroids I don’t want? really disappointing .
everything was in their power and they still failed to simply readjust the things they have done int he past by adding bandages and gauze over the entirety of the industrial back bone that moves this game forward.
Another mid slot added to Covetor/Retriever. And yet the base Power Grid remains as it. (about the size of a frigates, when they are medium rig size hulls).
There is no text that I see in the blog about the Procurer losing 2. In exchange for a third low. My reasoning to CCP Fozzie from July 2016 remains the same. I argued then that 4 mids allows for utility like Survey Scanners whilst retaining decent tanking ability. Which is a decent trade-off to the potential gain of 9% from the tech2 Mining Laser Upgrade. In addition, the base speeds all been inverted - Procurer is now the slowest.
What about a utility high-slot for barges, to follow on from paradigm set by the mining frigates?
I am going to directly point out that the yield difference between Venture and barge/exhumer is about 1:4 on average. Let me parallel that to the Astero and Stratios where this is no gain for scanning bonus.
A thought experiment. Let’s remove the Imicus (and other base Empire scan frigates). Direct players to use SoE hulls instead. At the same time, pull LP access to SoE into Null Sec. The base price-tag for exploration will go skyhigh. Through the oft quoted: “only fly what you can afford to lose” and “risk vs reward”; is the exploration career improved? But this is exactly what was done when mining cruisers were removed. In others words. There is no budget, willing to risk option. Of course what follows is why out of scope. (but you have read this far). Introduce a NPC rival to ORE. They have a budget priced mining cruiser based on the old Osprey specs. Powers about 1:2 to mining frigates and does not have access to Strips which are proprietary to ORE. There could be a lot of lore behind this. ORE has had pirate connections in the past. Which makes the four empires more willing to accommodate this new rival.
Back on track now. Why is there a need for three material hold types. Can it just be a type of tech3 switch that changes it between the three hold types in operation?
Why is ORE still behind a firewall of null-sec, when SoE and Thukker is casual access?
In truth the only thing that bothers me about this change is the waste concept and the simple fact that it is a driver to force older higher SP players not to group up with newer less SP players because of waste. It is a real potential issue on what CCP are perhaps intending to do with all this which is push people to work together more.
I had a conversation with someone in a mining corp that was looking to the fact that boosts would do that, but when I mentioned the waste impact he realised that it was a major issue.
CCP: We are going to spend a ton of time and resource improving the NPE because we need the game to grow in size and therefore grow in market share/profit
Existing Player Base: Oh OK we can wait a bit longer for you to fix a ton of broken stuff. Ok i see what you did there ‘golf clap’.
CCP: We are going to make Industry so complicated and new user unfriendly to deal with capital proliferation.
Existing Player Base: WTF?
CCP: We will now call it Prosperity and make all new players the bane of existence to Indy corp spreadsheets because of low SP and Isk levels.
Existing Player Base: WTF??
CCP: But we will offer Plex and Injector deals to ‘balance’ previous bad decisions.
Existing Player Base: Typical Fkin CCP
Has there been any thought in providing a Package of all the newly released BPO’s in one travel can? You could limit the time that it is available. It would safe countless time for us that have to copy and paste all the new BP’s that need to be purchased in a major chance like this one and then the “Oh crap” moment when we leave that area and have forgotten one or more item(s).
To hide it so nobody notices immediately I imagine. This entire blog and spreadsheet is garbage. Miners mine because they enjoy it and it actually makes them some form of profit in this game, but now they have to mine longer and more rocks and belts for the same results OR start forking out cash for new accounts, plex to cover overly expensive modules and more ships. It’s disgusting really. This is absolutely an across the board nerf to miners, especially because all are now more at risk of successful gankings. The Exhumers and Barges outside the Proc are still laughably weak requiring a 2 account 20mil ganker to kill while costing the miner upwards of 60mil or MORE because they’re now pressured to get faction miners.
This is scarcity 2.0, scarcity of miners willing to continue under this ■■■■■■■■.
