From Extraction to Production

they are literaly saying u have to get alts

mining was never and seems will never be for solo “one toon” player soo u better start to build some alts for plexin and i recomend u get some orcas before the patch

Yep, Omega alts too. It’s a cash grab. Just say that’s what it is and move on.
Stop trying to sugar coat it, we’ve all played MMO’s before and watched this happen.

PLEX is bought for ISK created by players. CCP can not make money off of inflating nor deflating ISK supply.

With the increased supply prices will continue to go down as inventories shrink, and supply and demand start catching up. This is already happening.

I think the mackinaw which will have something close to 50k m3 of ore hold space and MUCH higher yield would disagree with solo mining being more difficult

How do industry adm’s interact with Waste?
Will adm’s be based off amount mined to players inventory, or amount removed from rocks in space?

And Omega subscriptions (required for simultaneously online alts) do make CCP and PA money.
I’m ok with these changes, if they were presented for what they are - an incentive to increase revenue. There’s nothing wrong with that - unless you try to hide it.

You really think people are going to reward this crap by subbing extra alts to make up for the reduction in max yield per character? Might be less of a problem if you hadn’t made so many people quit already.
Wich part of “End Scaracity” do you not understand? Do i need to draw a picture for you?

I want an answer to this too. Sisi is currently showing 200% on the T2 Industrial Core when it is marked as 500% on the released xls file.

You know there are easier ways to get good?

I am in a massive null sec alliance, I promise you that no one mines in a group, it is extremely difficult to sit there and micro manage who gets what etc. on top of that, there are blue eyes all over the place, I do not want 60 random people surrounding my very big ship. Multiboxing caps isn’t an issue, an issue that is very known is that the solo player(with the above scenario in place) tries to mine anything on a belt or whatever and some dude with 6 covs an orca/rorq and a hauler just comes in a takes it all. I have been a long time solo player and refuse to buy more accounts, I cant, my computer cant do it. The rorqual was thee only good solo mining ship to aspire to. You have doubled resources(not really) and taken away the 1 ship that has been mostly contributing to the amount of resources available on the market. Are you going to reduce ship build cost because you have effectively turned the rorq into a 10 bil fully fitted boosting ship, what an exciting sounding thing to achieve. You are hurting new players a lot with all of these changes. Atleast you could have beefed up the boost of the rorq because there is no where near enough difference between orca and rorq to justify its cost and inability to be in high sec.

Macks are ganker bait in highsec. With the right corp in other areas you can use them - but then you’re not playing solo, you have rapid response, guard fleets, etc.

Undock a Mack in highsec? SAFTEY is on you nearly immiedately.

u mean scaming in jita? because 90% of the content is not worth to do and the other 10% is just pvp with extra steps

No we didn’t nerf all Miners, if you factor in new skills and modules

I’ve been playing Eve on and off for the past five years. The last time I was playing regularly was just before they made the first Rorq changes. I had been losing interest and the aforementioned changes were the last nail in the coffin.

Six months ago I returned and I’m big enough to admit that I can see the value of having Rorqs out in a belt boosting and mining. I run a rorq, 3x hulks and a transport ship which I have found works for me when mining moon ore. Once the moon ore compression came in I was going to swap the transport for another hulk but now I’m not sure I will.

Others have accused CCP of not understanding how people play the game and I have to say I agree with this to a point. I don’t know anyone who flies a rorq solo - they all have other ships feeding into it. For the sake of clarity I have outlined my issues below:

  • The mining waste unfairly penalises new players and I do believe will generate animosity from other miners - particularly in hi-sec where there are less rocks than, say, in null (regardless of changes).
  • Drone mining waste also seems unreasonably high - especially when you take into account the cost of excavator drones.
  • The whole idea of different compression modules is needlessly adding further complexity to the game. I believe it would be better to remove the compression from the industrial core and add a compression module that can only be active at the same time as the core, with balanced fuel requirements for both (Plus an extra high slot ideally or by a subsystem approach as outlined below).
  • Further to the above, we absolutely do not want to see ore being treated as a charge - this is no good for situations where compression use is shared by multiple people.
  • An extension of the above is that a 6 minute timer for the T2 rorq version is incongruous with the 5 minute timer on the industrial core II.
  • Not giving players choice on how to configure their specialist holds is mad. I never mine gas so a gas hold for me is a waste of space I could put to better use for ore/ice. A subsystem approach similar to T3s would be a better approach.

The approach CCP is looking to take with this update regarding mining craft is on another level of absurdity I thought I would never see. It seems the goal is to make mining more complicated, generate animosity towards newbies for no other reason than because they can. I beg you, please take some heed from what I and others are saying. I’m all for things like moon & gas compression and allowing orcas/porpii to compress but don’t make it so bloody complicated!

With that being said I am grateful for CCP working on new ideas for miners and industry. It’s been needed for a long time - I just hope it’s done well and doesn’t degenerate into a mess.

u are implaying we have to pay money to ccp for getting omega

Obviously that is not the case because I used to do it all the time before the price of trit tanked

Correct, just solo miners - even those of us who don’t rely on Orca mining.
2x the amount of ore, but you lose half in most cases to space dust - zero change, that’s great
10% compression loss… now we’re in negative numbers
Oh, but boosts still exist - kind of like they do now, probably a 5% increase - and we’re still in the hole.

So, Omega up an army of alts, or stop playing solo.

No, you could buy it with ISK, that miners will now be making less of.
