From Extraction to Production

And, frankly? I agree that you should be able to do things with your alts if you want to as well, and this change doesn’t kill your ability to do so, just pushes you to change how you plan it.

Like how I’ve had to change and adapt to every change the royally ■■■■■■ several of my income streams, this, is a net gain that I’m excited for and hoping sticks.

No change will make everyone happy.

Jita local is so salty, glad of this update

It is not even about alts. Up until very recently I only mined gas with 1 character and was content with it. I was able to make enough money and mine enough gas to contribute with other corp mates to the monthly needs.
I only recently had to use more than one character to mine gas because CCP screwed up the industry by adding gas to production of ships and all of the sudden russians, chinese and other crap flooded the clouds, which forced me to use an additional character just so that I could get some gas out of the cloud before it was hovered up in less than 20 minutes by them. And now the prices are crashing. And the added gas that is soon to come will crash prices even more.

And in that climate I am supposed to have fun and mine gas in ships that cost 4 times as much as a Prospect because the Prospect – as it stands for now – was made completely useless.

No. NO CHANGE would have at least made me less annoyed with Rattatat. There was no reason to trash the Prospect. The ship works perfectly fine, it is balanced and versatile. The only reason that they – as it stands currently – had to trash the Prospect is that they want people to use barges and exhumers to mine gas. There is no other reason for it. You can’t leave a good ship intact if you want to FORCE people to use trash ships that perform worse and cost more. It is lazy, it is unimaginative, it is a downright toxic development approach – and it’s so typical for Rattati.

this, I also agree with actually. I am of the opinion it needs to regain the gas harvesting bonuses, but several ships are indeed gaining a new lease on life, which is good as well. There is good and less good both in the update

and i actually hadn’t noticed the loss of gas harvesting for it until you just pointed it out, so thank you for highlighting a notable negative

как обстоят дела с чертежами на кристал , и время потраченное на их изучение , самое главное в игре и самое ценное это время … хотелось бы получить аналог чертежей в прокаченном виде.

basic economics
a 10 billion isk mining ship should make a lot more than a 200 million isk one
calling it fleet support and making the pilot that flies it only useful as a group booster while not being able to earn for himself is just nuts. that may work for pvp links and logi, but it is asking a bit much of the indy pilot to invest so much isk and SP to just sit there during hours of mining ops makes no sense. unless the intent is for the boredom to make him go afk and die to intruders

Jita has broken the previous character in system record by more than 200 chars. Previous record was 6556, Jita right now is over 6700. I wonder if CCP will apply for a new Guiness World Record entry with this figure.

The Yield is what players will focus on - Green mining in Eve is not rewarded. You land in a belt or Anom and there are scads of people there sucking up as much ore as possible - the highest value resource first - If your slow you lose, There is no incentive not to use the Type B mining Crystals. . I’m not Impressed at all .

What about making mining MORE INTERACTIVE AND FUN?

Like… Instead of pressing F1 and F2 and go watch Netflix, make it like a “MINIGAME” in which the players with most skill get the best YIELD.

This would also get automatically rid of botters.

I think most of us have been asking for something like this for YEARS and nothing happens.

Come on CCP!!!

and hopefully, as someone who appreciates the art in these ships there will be a better distinction between the Barges and Exhumers, fingers crossed

Who would have taught that it will be mining changes that break the camels neck of this whole scarcity thing.
+1 Respect for all the miners who are RISING UP.

Were where you, when the Miner did not want to calm down anymore?

The solo rorqual isn’t supposed to generate you isk. It’s supposed to generate pvp content by baiting out hotdroppers and wormhole gankers.

Basic economics: A Tengu is a popular ratting ship, fits that solo c4 anoms usually come at about 2b~3b isk. So, how does this Tengu perform when ratting level 4 npc missions in highsec? Or lvl4/5 anoms in carebearland? Why does an Ishtar, while AFK, outperform any Tengu fit or playstyle at ratting nullsec anoms, depite being only a tenth of the price?

The t3c being able to cloaky warp, scan the signatures, tank a craplot of both dps and ewar, shoo away or wreck most solo gankers, is all cool but doesn’t result in the t3c generating any additional isk or loot or LP while ratting.

A Rorqual can also out-dps most subcaps, and can therefore guncannon mine quite decently, too, but a dreadnaught, despite being less expensive, will guncannon mine more loot then a rorqual in combat anomalies, while any subcap combat ship, including command ships, will move so much faster through a DED complex that the lower DPS gets compensated by the movement speed

@CCP_Rattati

Is there a reason for so many Compression modules?

There is no cost after buying the module and swapping modules is as easy as dropping a mobile depot. To me this route adds very little (module trade) to game play and mostly seems complicated for complications sake, to me anyway.

The same thing could be accomplished with just t1 + t2 Belt ore, moon ore etc modules and scripts.
Using scripts you could handle compression eff and other stats on the script while adding a reoccurring cost to compression. It also adds to industry and market gameplay via having a new ammo type to build supply and trade along with the modules.

Ah, I was about to do a test for this, as it is often time a quick way to gain staindings, especially with opposite faction.

@CCP_Dopamine @CCP_Swift @CCP_Rattati Here is something you forgot.
There would need for a lot more than double the ore in those missions, because the waste occurs BEFORE anything is put into the ore hold, and not 50-50 at the end of the mining cycle. Many times, the rocks in those missions are smaller than the total yield of your strip miner cycle, meaning a full cycle will entirely destroy the rock an you get nothing.

And if you do your best to time your last cycle the best you can to be as close as possible to extract 50% of what is left of the rock, you are still likely going to waste more than 50%. Unless you use bots and can calculate your cycles with high precision…

The “waste first” mechanic is very bad.

Star Citizen has come a long way in the past year.

I was of the same opinion till I tried it and I’m blown away by the game so far.

It’s just that good. And CPP should be very worried about it.

Are you F’n Kidding!!! I rode out attrition for this crap. Pearl Abyss was the worst thing to ever happen to eve online!!! leave Rorq’s and Orca’s alone that is my primary source of income as a casual player
