The excel they made available yesterday said that the crytals that were 80% more yield, -20% duration, also had a 30% additional waste multiplier. I’m going to guess that’s what the missing label is.
Because ships should have a reason to be undocked and the Primae’s originally was PI, but then they went and redid all the Gallente ships and suddenly you got a mega PI monster in the Epithal which reduced the Primae to a hangar ornament.
Hi folks,
With a friend of mine we are currently testing the “Compact Mobile Asteroid Ore Compression Unit(e) A II”. We are a little unhappy with auto-reload/auto-cycling there:
You may load up to (equivalence of) 15.000 m³ as ammo, each cycle then consumes 40610 units (in case of Veldspar), so you may have up to 3 cycles to go.
The auto-loading does not consider auto-loading from the cargo hold (if not the exact right amount is loaded), so this means that you will have to at least click every 4.5 minutes to reload and then retrigger compressing. I think that this is what the capsuleer in Orca will keep you busy… Gone are the afk days for the Orca pilot…
Fortunately, you are able to load the ammo in chunks, so you can load first 10000 units, then another 25000 and then the rest.
The Porpoise can serve as Ore Compression platform, but its internal cargo hold with 5000 m³ is very small. So, this is going to be tedious work, if the cargo hold of the Porpoise does not get buffed a little (which I would suggest - perhaps reduce the ice/gas/ore hold a little instead).
Apropos Porpoise: It’s a little strange that the Porpoise has 60000 m³ Ice and Gas Hold, but only 50000 m³ Ore Hold :-S
Such bait. Much wow. The absolute peak of irony is a Griffin is a lower cheaper, weaker, version of the Scorpion. But sure compare the E-War Frigate to the Rail Hybrid Battleship and discredit yourself.
I do agree with most of your proposed changes, though for the rorq and orca, i get it that ccp dont want it to be a mining ship, but the skill gap, price tag, the vulnerable 5minute siege of a 10b ship doesn’t overcompensate the bonus and role as a boosting ship. The main point that ccp should focus on is how to make orcas and rorqs be more useful in boosting(not mining don’t get me wrong) and other roles such as decreasing the chance of waste and bonus in on-grid compressing(speed and efficiency) when siege green, in addition to bonus ore hold capacity in exchange of the removal of the bonus yield from mining drones.
oh ccp actually should also release a muliboxing software for omegas
ftfy
The funny thing is the Orca is the mining ship of choice because it is tanky.
Which is why the Procurer is also the mining ship of choice.
Who wants to mine, pull in a 10th of their ship’s overall value, and get popped by a pair of 12mil Catalysts? Nobody, which is why the other barges and exhumers are far less commonly used.
The solution is apparent, the other barges need to be more survivable, considerably more survivable. But instead CCP does the exact opposite by removing the Orca as an option and then absolutely demolishing the Procurer and Skiff’s tank. None of the resist bonuses tacked onto only some of the exhumers is important, they’re all still easily ganked and the rep bonus for the Orca is largely irrelevant because rarely do you have only a single barge on grid with them in most cases for highsec which means the Orca has a 1/x shot of pre-selecting the correct barge. Nevermind that the Cats cycle guns far faster than the Orca cycles reps.
Overall ALL survivability is down and for what? There’s no tradeoffs or gains. Most people aren’t going to bother.
mt reply to you the rest of us got different game play .have u ever lost a fight because rats web you?
do you actually fight people with skills? but i respect your opinion matteral will send u an invite to his show he needs everybody like u
I am playing on the test server and I have a question. For Type C crystals, the reduced yield is only for the specialty ore, but all other ore is still a higher yield. Is this intended?
For example, I have a common asteroid Type C 1 loaded and I could mine uncommon ore at 1195.12m3 per cycle and have a waste multiplier of 18 @ 74% probability. Not the 298.78m3 that I would have with common ore.
yes, Not only in HS, the rats in NS also contributes the same problem, if ccp encourages the use of subcaps to mine, than they should make all the barge and their T2 variant tankyer in exchange of the nerf of the orca
HS have ganking problem and NS have rat problem lol
The coolest thing about this update is the realism. Waste during mining and processing is a real problem in actual mining, and people do embrace wasteful practices for short term gains, etc. etc.
Asteroid mining is a pillar of the scifi pantheon, and it is so satisfying that is it becoming more complex and realistic in Eve. The increased options for fitting the various mining ships add to that as well. Really killer job from what I can see.
Also, also, thank you for remembering the Primae!
don’t cry for me, Argentina…
@CCP_Psych @CCP_Dopamine @CCP_Rattati Allow Rorquals to use industrial cynos - it just makes sense as it’s an industrial ship and would help to encourage people to still want to use the Rorqual.
His comparision was based on size.
My example discredited that comparison.
Im gonna guess youre just bored while “protesting” in Jita at how incorrectly people read these changes.
Not sure if this has been proposed in here before, but maybe this patch could finally be a chance to add BPOs for Command Centers? With the industry patch PI has gained a much more important role and having access to command centers is the basis for that.
@CCP_Rattati For capital ships to ever be built again the required build materials need to cut in half across the board. That is literally the only way given these scarcity 2.0 changes.
I think Matteral swings too hard into the oppose everything the otherside says mentality.
And yes, I’ve also lost ships by being tackled by NPCs! for instance this chimera(horrible fit I know haha, it was a hilarious). And indeed I do fight people with skill, but I do consider a target, largely, a target. I have a preference for competent pilots, but if there’s only farmers in an area, well, they’re on thee menu, some examples of competent pilots I’ve fought and killed John Mc-Clane, and James the Less… if you look deeper, you’ll see I have many interesting kills, and many hilarious deaths.
But that’s not the point really, let’s look at something more relevant, I build ships and modules on a moderately decent scale, I buyback ore, I buyback salvage, I mine rocks… I know my way around the industry interface, and to quote the name of the devblog ‘from extraction to production’… and IU think it will be quite the boon for my small group
I will keep an eye on it but the nasty part of me hopes that if something gets broken bad enough maybe THEN will be the time to fix it.

His comparison is that the Rorqual as it is CURRENTLY is a step up sort of master of all and that the closest exhumer even after patch doesn’t even match half of existing Rorqual output. You go from a 9 month or so tree of mining into just a 2 month or so from newbro to Hulk pilot skilling wise.
Did the Rorq need nerfs? Yes, but this is a complete changing of it’s purpose rather than a nerf. It’s like if you trained for months and built up the capital to get into a Marauder to run missions only for the marauders to become a glorified command battlecruiser not allowed to actually deal damage.
Honestly, Rorqual pilots wouldn’t be so upset if CCP had introduced something more comparable. Like a Battleship sized miner using an ORE Bastion type module.
And this is only covering one aspect of the update, not the rest which is mostly even worse imo.
@CCP_Rattati If you don’t want the rorqual to be the best miner in the game, fine, replace it with a capital mining barge. That way the end game mining ship isn’t a subcap and would result in capitals out in space compared to these changes actively removing them from space.
