From Extraction to Production

that is an interesting concept, and now I’m imagining miniaturized versions of the Kubera, ORE’s narratively existent mobile supercap mining platform

And you are entitled to your opinion.

Mine after reading this is that the few negatives for mining operators are far eclipsed by the positives.

I dont really see why so many people dont get it, but whatever.

I give them a G for greedy! I’m moving to star citizen!

The thing is: There’s no capital MINING ships. (Not supposed to be, I mean.)
Orca/Rorqual are mining support, they are not supposed to outmine everything around them. Mining capabilities were added by a popular demand without much consideration.

Copy it from charmap  (Win+R → charmap → Search → “Trade”)

“Sitting at the POS providing bonuses” is not really considered. No.

CCP wants you to survive a gank like they want their finger nails pulled off with a pair of pliers! lol this is a move to extract more cash out of the player base! nothing else! Your being played not playing a good game anymore!

I have Orca and rarely using it for mining. There’s other ways it can be used. Fun and prosperous.

It seems as though the Devs are purposely trying to destroy this game. I don’t understand how you could accidentally make this many bad decisions. I have three main characters and I will be voting with my wallet once again. I will immediately turn two accounts off. I will also be strongly considering turning off the last one as well. I don’t have much of a reason to log in. Two of my main characters where born in July of 2004. All three can fly supers and Titans. All three fly Rorquals. I don’t log in anymore because there is nothing to do. The game play that I have worked for 16 years to build is gutted. Yes, there is other things to do. But I built these characters to rat and mine over 16 years. Now some millennial socialist has decided that life is not fair because someone has more than he does. So we need to take from the person that has worked for 16 years and give it to the person that wines the loudest. Well trust me when I say that I will vote with my wallet. When you get down to the single accounts that complain the loudest and the game folds due to low income from player log ins. Remember when all the paying multi character accounts where telling you that you where making a mistake. Socialism does not and has not ever worked in the history of the world.

so u do not use null sec or wh or low sec u made my point

For the Rorq to be effective as a mining command ship in nullsec it’s needs ways to better protect the subcaps in the mining fleet. The subcaps are typically close to the Rorq so they can move ore to the fleet hanger. One well placed bubble and the whole subcap fleet is screwed.

Please look for ways for the Rorq to better help protect subcaps. Some ideas:

  1. Give it 1 or 2 more command burst modules so in addition to the 3 mining boosts it can also do shield boosts. Or maybe the ability to swap bursts quickly.
  2. Give it the ability to store combat ships in its ship hanger. Maybe limit these to cruiser and smaller.
  3. Faster targeting time so it can target and rep subcaps being attacked.
  4. Don’t nerf the DPS for combat drones.

I haven’t thought about if any of these suggestions would make Rorq too OP in other settings.

I live in lowsec honey, its where a good chunk of my industry occurs.

I am cynical enough, and sufficiently despairing of CCP’s lack of common dog, to be tempted to agree with you…

is the waste scrap?

Well this update blog page was one hot piece of garbage.
I’ll just stay away from EVE for a little longer if they think this is the carrot on the stick, its just the same stick but now painted to look like a carrot

BUG … sitting in station in an orca and cannot leave the ship. have to switch to corvette, undock and exit shipt there in order to be able to do things with the clone (extract and inject skills) … quite annoying

I refer you to Malcolm Tucker’s take on the carrot and stick method… I would post the YouTube link but it includes naughty words.

Obviusly you are not a miner, there needs to be new ships for mining like there has been for pvp, exploration, etc. Honestly the only goal solo miners have is to train into a Rorq/Orca, with that now being removed for solo mining we are thrown back to exhumers which kinda sucks not ever gettting a new ship to work towards.

i mean the Porpoise can compress now so that would be entry level of support and compression with Light mining drone variants (100% drone mining yield)

Then the upgrade to that would be the Orca with better fleet support bigger cargo better compression with Medium mining drones variants. (200% drone mining yield)

And finally at the top end you would have the Rorqual with top end fleet support top end cargo top end compression better than station compression and the (large) Harvesting drones. (300% drone mining yield)

There we have it , fixed.
buff to drones is required to compensate for the risk involved of being locked with the industrial core to get the bonus and the fuel usage of using the industrial core. In fact the Industrial core should also add an increase boost to drone speed to compensate for the long travel time between ores since we become stationary now.

I think that all in-space compressions are better than the station one, even those you can do in Porpoise/Orca
