And why the big nerf to the Kryos mineral hold ?
Besides wasting players time for more travel.
To force you use the on-field compression, darling.
How and why would you compress minerals, darling?
For the waste percentage i would prefer it to be reduced by the Mining skill for ore or Ice Harvesting skill for ice (for example 4% per level). So as your yield increases, your waste percentage goes down.Personally i dont like waste mechanic.
I really wished that the rework of mining, would eventually bring an ingame fleet mining ledger, for easy distribution of mined ore. With that in mind the boosting ship could become the heart of the mining operations, where a simple deposit function to the fleet hangar, could store the ore to the ore hangar directly (this transaction is what is needed to be tracked). The boosting ship could receive a small prearranged fee for the services provided(boosting, hauling, compressing) , in the form of ore (2% of deposited ore for example). Compressing on field, the porp should be able to handle up to 5-6 covetors (max yield). Orca up to 10-15 hulks and rorq up to 25-40 hulks. Also boosts should lower waste percentage. They are supposed to be fleet ships, not solo ones.
Also i believe that a system like bounty modifier but for ore, could work (to replace waste). Forcing people to move to unmined systems and spread in general. Even preventing spawning better ore in overmined systems and spawning better ones in undermined.
Hello CCP Team and all other Capsulers,
so after a time of âdoing nothingâ in EvE i ended up testing this stuff on Singularity with two other full skilled miner in Skiffs. And even without going the best way with drones and other optimisations, the compression is too slow to be used in field. The Skiff easily out runs the compression module and after half a belt i ended with half compressed and half uncompressed ore in the Orca. Also the handling is a bit uncomfortable. You have to place ore in the main Orca bay and have to reload the compression module manually. After you loaded 15k mÂł in the module it will compress three cubes of 100mÂł ( 40.000 pieces Veldspar ) one after another and a unsusable rest of ore will remain. Then start at manuall reload. The compressed cubes also delivered to the main bay. You have to move them manually. So taking on automatic from fleet hangar / bay and delivering to ore hangar / bay dependend on the type you mine right now would be very helpful. As there is enough todo with one Orca and two skiff. Also the Industrial Core, asked by Highsec miners for a time is nothing i could find that useful. It increases ore yield and other values but fixes the ship for at least five minutes. The advantage in highsec at least isnt that big, that it will be used in masses. Maybe for some few guys to get best out of mining. But then youwill run with more uncompressed ore and have to compress in front of station after mining. The mining drones are pretty useless then as the ship is fixed and the drones have to go far ways then. So nothing useful when mining yield of drones will be doubled by running the Core. And the Drones get the biggest push out of this Module. So i am not asking for âfull automatic solo mining fleet earning funâ. I am aware that to much automatic and comfort also raises bot possibilities. But also i am aware that this could be adjusted until release. Just my opinion. o7 fly safe people of New Eden.
@CCP_Dopamine Iâve got two requests.
I love the idea of offensive mining - especially with the ability to use high waste mining lasers to destroy the belts quickly while making some isk on the side. I would however like to make one change:
Request One: Offensive mining should also lower ADMâs since Iâm destroying the belts.
Request Two: A covert ops variant of the porpoise.
The ability to get behind enemy lines, and destroy their belts sounds like fantastic gameplay.
With the Orca compression module. But it is slower then two Skiffs mining. All three characters full skilled. You end up with half ship compressed and uncompressed ore. So no chance to get a Orca full of compressed ore. Maybe with some Ventures it is doable. But âŚ
Doesnât compress minerals.
Compression is for ores.
Try it with something other than veldspar. Thatâs a worst case.
It doesnât compress by volume, it compresses by unit. like 40000 units per 60 seconds. With veld, thatâs like 4k m3. with plagioclaise thatâs 14,000 m3 a minute. I have a table further up.
Yes thats right. I may miss read the mineral info.
Part of me is really curious about the Skiff sensor strength nerf. Honestly who walked into the meeting and was like âOMG guys, we have to get this 14 sensor strength under control, better make it 13 instead.â
Seriously curious how that was one of the talking points that needed to get addressed.
goodluck with 1b catas and 1t supers
Hi, Iâm a player that openly supports these changes, they need some tweaking, wonât be perfect, but will be, I think, largely positive.
For context, I pay for, currently, three subscriptions, two mains, and a trade alt. I semi-actively pvp, I have a well rooted background in industrial and mining gameplay, and I have plans to resub two alt accounts with this change, and will be actively running with my small group to play with things.
A pleasure to meet you.
tbh, I am fine with the concept of the updates, it adds another game style, though I think ccp should actually tweak the numbers better, and also the machenics
Talk is cheap. Show that â From Extraction To Exasperation - INN (imperium.news) EVE is not becoming 2nd job and chore. And I donât mean Rorquals because I donât fly one. I donât multibox either.
Iâm very curious what NPE Team has to say about waste mechanics.
Ok? Whatever thats supposed to mean
the ship price will skyrocket and so does plex, with less rorq and solo new bro miners for target, this means less PVP fun and even more time intensive and boring isk making. Not everyone have the ability to buy plex with real money, inequality exist in real world, which also reflects ingame, and itâs the economy of eve that provides equity to its player base
No it wont
And if it were to, then selling Cats will be a great business move
thats why pet shops exists
So Iâve had quite a few thoughts on this whole update. TLDR most new changes good compression change is bad
At first I thought it was terrible, introduction of waste was a really dumb idea. (It still is but we will get to this and its actually alright)
Rorqs are now essentially a boosting platform and compression platform. Not great for everyone who had more than 1 rorq as an active miner but this was a change very long over due as it wasnât healthy for the game as well as not in line with ccps current goals. Iâll have a few proposed buffs to the proposed rorq changes later I just want to get into each section.
Highlights
Orca still wont be great in anything outside Highsec since youâre now sieging it in place for a little extra boosting power (roughly 8% better) and a boost to its active tank of I believe 20-30%. So the Orca still doesnât bridge the gap between Rorq and Porp.
Reprocessing changes are nice, a simplification of the ores to different categories falls in line with how moons are currently handled so overall a good change.
Compression, Well this is just a mess all in itself. Its hurting quite literally everyone with a combination of 20 new mods with t2 variations. To effectively mine an asteroid belt you would need roughly 4 types of the ore compression. A porpoise will effectively be able to run 2 at once current build and never really be able to compress as a fleet mines. even best case situation you have a rorq or two sitting in a belt only compressing as the fleet mines at most large groups mining millions of m3 in less than a 5 hour peroid 2 rorqs with 8 compression mods each wont be able to keep up. Sure you can take the 10% lose at a station but who wants to do this.
Proposed adjustments
For the rorq - Keep the nerfed mining (this will get hate yall can deal with it trust me) Increase the rorqs provided boost. Increase its tank by either buffing its natural resist, adding an increase to rep boost amount on the siege mod or increase panics time limit.
With these we will still see rorqs in belts and on moon grids sieged up and a viable part of the fleet worth skilling dedicated people or toons into with more effort on group mining
The Orca - Iâm not too sure what to change on this to be applicable to null without being too strong in high sec but as it stands I personally see no reason to use an Orca in Null/low the buff gained from sieging it wont make up for it IMO so gain more tank and stronger boost to the fleet? reduce build cost? Iâm open to ideas on this
Compression - Its just too complicated. There are Ore A-F Tier 1 and 2 Gas A-E T1 & T2 Ice A-C T1 & T2 Moon A-E T1 T2. Theyâre currently cycled mods, this should stay itâll make you choose between rep power utility or compression in high slots. But it shouldnât run on charges based on ore IMO. Active the mod for 5 mins compress that type of ore as cost of like heavy water or a lesser compression yield.
The skills on the new mods seem a little cumberson so I personally would like to just see an Ore compression mods an ice compression mod a gas compression and a moon rather than seeing a mod per refining breakdown on the new reprocessing skills.
As for the rest the changes. Theyâre all pretty good. I dont see the changes to barges as a large enough buff over all. The difference between a proc and skiff mining and tank isnât that amazing same with other exhumers and their t1 variants.
Over all i dont see my personal play style changing. The waste is silly but youâre rewarded for choosing high sp investments into more yield and lower waste.
