Because when CS Go skin gambling got skylined a few years back it drew lots of bad press and attention.
Its a really bad grey area here. One best left avoided by CCP.
Some details:
In short, it was never breaking any law. Only much noise by some people who decided to try their luck in court, even when there was no chance of winning in court.

Poker is my favorite card game.
With that being said, keep it out of New Eden. I hate how a lot of MMOs bridge the gap between RL and the game. I want to be in a totally seperate world when I play.

How would it bring isk into the game?
When it comes to gambling “house should always win”. If it is different and they have to add to the business they do, they do it wrong. So if anything, cassinos should be an ISK sink in their entirety, only redistributing ISK to few lucky guys, who really have luck.

well the problem with that is, real money > plex > isk = gambling laws intervention.
this subject was dead before it was posted. but still the few insist they know better.
CCP is a small company with one product on the market and I’m sure they don’t want any further restrictions on subs than there already is.

There is already a forums for that.
Its called Jita local.
You pay an isk doubler. Sometimes he doubles your isk. Sometimes not. Its all a game of chance. You can even chat with them.
I would love to play Texas Hold’em whilst docked.

I don’t gamble with real money…isk would be fine though

You can gamble with funny money all over the internet, your smartphone apps, or handheld game devices.
Gambling in EVE will only lead to RMT and legal problems.
