Get real dude. The only reason. And I mean the ONLY reason EVE is still alive is because there are whales out there literally floating it along. As soon as the whales stop buying PLEX, EVE is done. Because it has no real subscriber base. Not enough to pay developers and property tax on the building that houses all the computers and the insane data plan they must have. The abysmal subscriber base of EVE is not enough to turn the lights on. So keep going on and on about how EVE has survived and other MMOâs havenât. You know damn well that some of the higher ups in goons are literally spending like $2000 per month on this game. Get over yourself and your garbage âfactsâ.
Actually I beg to differ. EVE is really a big steaming pile of crap. Iâm basically at the point now where I have tried getting into it for the last time. This game has and always will be a steaming pile of horse â â â â
Naari & Justified, thank you for your input and trying to reason with these neanderthals. You know the old saying, you can lead a horse to water but you canât make an idiot realise heâs being bludgeoned to death. Morons like this donât deserve your time. And whatâs worse, since CCP tends to side with morons like this, CCP is not worth your time. I am moving on from this game. For good. Iâve come and gone over the years and itâs been a nice run. But this EVERYTHING MUST BE NULL/PVP OR ELSE!! attitude is killing it for me. What I want is a mix of your standard MMO and EVE. What I want is the fun, engaging PVE content that pays well, in high sec. So guys can start making their high sec corps, and having a reason to log in and fleet with their newbroâs. It would give corps a chance to grow and get established. And then those corps would be able to do their thing PVP wise, on their terms, not on the psychopath tendancy of PVP in this game. EVE FORCES you to either a) solo this game in ALL ASPECTS. Or B) throws you into PVP whether you like it or not.
So basically. CCP you dun F*D UP. Sorry. But the day those whales you are banking on finally decide to check out? Letâs just say have fun getting your layoff notices. And I will be here, laughing at you.
Can i have all your stuff?
Iâm sad to see OP go, but this quete here explains alot. Iâve been wondering why is it that Naari has been making suggestions that would kill eve and bankcrupt ccp. Now its aparent, he is working for a competing company and would gain bussines advantage if his ideas for eve were implemented.
You mean, his months of posts have been some sort of real-world corporation infiltration scheme like people do in Eve to bring down CCP? Thatâs some Inception-level â â â â going on.
I donât know what to think but my first instinct is to tell him to keep that infiltration stuff in-game and out of the forums. But I think I actually want to see what kinda game his strange ideas on how PvP games should work might produce. If it isnât against some rule, I hope he makes a public invite here for us all to try this new sandbox space game of his.
Which is EXACTLY why trying to turn EVE into a PvE Merry Go Round competing with WOW/WOW Clones would be a fools errand.
Kill off the old customers and get lolled by the new.
I have no ill intent for eve, I want to help it. Its frustrating having the knowledge to be able to change something, but not being able to change it.
You guys think on a level that is about people like you, I however, think on a level that is for the betterment of eve, and ccp. I understand you guys are scared my casual-centric, activision-blizzard type mentality, but they make 3.6 billion a year, while eve is not even at half that rate. They have millions a year, while eve is declining to the state of barely having 15k online.
Either you and ccp will need to negate from your ideaâs and positions, or you wont have an eve to complain about. I can promise you that the clock is short, and even I, In all my genius, am extremely concerned for this game. Eve has entered a state which has historically proven to never be reduced by developers. That should scare the â â â â out of you.
When it comes to pvp, I am advocating for more of it, but this egocentric-we should 1 shot noobs nonsense needs to go. I think a lot of you with this mentality are just sad, desperate little people that cant handle real pvp, or real social interactions, so your instinct is to beat noobs on the head and call yourselves gods. no wonder why the game is not going anywhere.
But you donât know Eve enough (or at all) to be in position to even suggest those changes.
If you honestly think that the changes i advocate for will bankrupt and kill this case, your delusional. I can walk away right now with the prediction âeve will die with in 3 yearsâ and be right, and do nothing for that eve.
Yet here i am, arguing with idiots like you, to try to open ccpâs eyes to save the game.
Seems like if i intended to kill this game, i am wasting my time.
By the way, I do put a 3 year judgement on this game. It will change its positions or die, I am certain of it. I know that its highly unlikely that ccp will start actually using their heads, and change positions diametrically from âkill the noobâ to âsupport themâ. Maybe then they will go somewhere out side of being a 1 trick pony company. I say that with a diseased ridden, flesh falling off the pony state in mind.
CCP has to change, They must remove a lot of their horrible positions, or they will lose it all. Im not their ceo, and i dont have creative rights on eve, but i can spend my time and knowledge to help save the game from people like you, who advocate abuse of players, much less new and who intend to burn this game to the ground.
People have been claiming that EVE is dying for at least 10 years now, and EVE still exists. I doubt it would still be here if CCP had turned it into your risk-free PvE farming gamee.
News flash, eve has been âdyingâ since then.
im not saying it will be dying, i am saying it will be dead. Big difference
People like you have been making the exact same prediction of âEVE will be dead in a couple of years if they donât make it a risk-free PvE farming game like WoWâ for 10 years and theyâve been wrong for 10 years. Why should your version of that prediction be any more believable?

Thereâs constructive criticism, and thereâs just spewing crap.
In short, Keep talking crap, because this game is not growing. You are delusional if you think your mindset is somehow going to resurrect eve from the ashes.
IOW, youâre just going to repeat the same old nonsense that people have been saying for literally 10+ years. My approach may not save EVE. Itâs possible that, after 15+ years of existence, EVE has simply reached the end of its life just like every game eventually does. However, it is almost certain that your ideas about turning EVE into a risk-free PvE farming game like every other generic WoW clone will kill EVE at least as fast and probably a lot faster.
no one said anything about removing risk.
casuals make up 85% of the gaming population, Why should ccp appeal to 15%? Its that reason why eve never saw 100k online in the first place.
If this game has a chance, its chance is taking away the egotism you advocate for, and making it casual friendly, and removing the alt/multi boxing spam so the game is something more then ccpâs milking cow.
OP did, right from the beginning:
In their own words: relatively safe environment for endgame PvE content and raiding with their friends. This entire thread is about making the game a low/no-risk WoW clone.
casuals make up 85% of the gaming population, Why should ccp appeal to 15%? Its that reason why eve never saw 100k online in the first place.
Because that 85% is already committed to WoW, and itâs better to continue to maintain control over the 15% that nobody else is competing for than to throw away your existing 15% and make a desperate attempt to take a significant percentage of the dominant gameâs market share.
Lowing the risk, and removing it are not the same.
Its ok for high sec to be lowered in risk, after all that is the claim your claiming.
CCP has stated, both directly and through data that high sec is significantly more dangerous then null.
So heâs activating for changes that people like you claim is there, ccp says is not.
So you and people like you are ignorant, he is right, and ccp is lazy (slow to react) to fixing these problem(s). finally, its clear that high sec needs isk buffs. This is due to the inflation being caused by null.
Dear ignorant idiot, These are industry metrics. It seems your to stupid to get it
Any game consist of around 85% casual players, and around 15%. There is a 3-5 % variance depending on the source.
Thus, 85% of people in eve are casual, and play around 3-5 hours a week, and 15% of them play more then 5 hours a week.
I will take your payment of $50000 now, for this class.
Its clear your arguing for the sake of arguing, so let me make this more clear for youâŚ
Either negate for your position, or you wont have an eve to play. End of story.
The first âEve will die unless it is made less harshâ post on the forums occurred sometime in the early summer of 2003, shortly after launch. That was over FIFTEEN years ago and in that time we have seen massive growth of this game and continued financial success, so much so that another company bought CCP for over a quarter of a billion dollars just six months ago. Itâs a little rich to come here and spout off doomsday predictions that unless Eve your pet changes to the game are implemented, the game is going to literally die.
Give it up. Your carebear brethren have been trying this gambit to casual-fy Eve for longer than some Eve players have been alive now. Eve as a game is only still here because it offers something near unique in the gaming sphere, and is not another flash-in-the-pan themepark game. In fact, Eveâs growth trajectory only stopped when CCP started going after casuals and implementing questionable monetization schemes popular in the industry. Such schemes may work fine for a mobile game with a 12-18 month live expectancy, but not-so-much for a game that is intended to last âforeverâ. Regardless, I see no evidence anyone wants to play a neutered version of Eve that lacks any real competition.
I mostly believe you are genuine, but really focus on your new game, or encourage CCP to make a new game in the Eve universe instead of trying to reinvent Eve. Shoehorning an old game like Eve into something else not only would take more effort, it would likely kill their only successful product, even if that success is niche, and be the end of the company. Much better to ride that success for years in maintenance mode for years to come than take such a risk.
