A 20min hard-cap on bumping wont eliminate bumping.
It is also not necessary, because the amount of people that it would affect is not even worth the consideration.
This whole thing is nothing but discrimination and hate against how a handful of people play, started by less than a handful of people who feel nothing but hate against, apparently, everyone. And they succeeded, because there are too many simple, easy minds easily tricked by propaganda techniques.
This ■■■■ is born out of nothing but hate, raised through hate and kept alive only because of hate. Fascists, who want to dictate how others, even only a few people, have to behave.
This thread might reach 2000 posts, but all it does is serving the weak minds who continuously post in here, and the hateful ones who want to limit everyone’s freedom until they are happy. Over and over and over and over again.
Teckos, I would really like to see you on the wardec discord.
I read this post and it brings this to mind…
I swear I wasted my whole lunch reading this.
Drav, I think your proposal has far too many moving parts for my liking. No hate, but’s a bit too complicated, I think.
Oh, and one big No-No from me. Even if I think the safety is a bit silly and unnecessary, it’s there and it works for what is designed to do. Bypassing the safety without the pilot disengaging it doesn’t fly with me. I may not like a tool, but don’t want to break it once it’s in place.
As for the rest of the posts…
I still would prefer to leave well enough alone.
However, if CCP were to decide something absolutely had to be done to prevent possible bump griefing for hours on end, then I would prefer a hard (non-resetting) timer that after its expiration, the ship would automatically warp off. The various parties could negotiate the exact timing.
–Gadget read the whole thing!
Fair point, it is a bit complicated, but I was trying to cover the bases in terms of making it hard to game and that does end up with additional complexity.
If you can give me a TL;DR, that would be great. I have skimmed through it, but it is just too much and I avoid reading such … posts. Texts. Whatever you want to call them.
Btw, I hope that pointing at the generation that is, or will soon be leaving, the “elite” colleges in the US of A scares you at least a bit. George Carlin, critically thinking comedian, put it into a few, simple words.
“Political Correctness is fascism pretending to be manners.”
If he was still alive, I would contact him and link him this forum.
Best idea so far.
We should take a vote
Does something need to be done to address bumping in Eve Online?
- Yes, there needs to be a time limit of some kind for bumping ships to prevent them from warping
- No, things are fine the way the are

Nice try Pedro.
I hope there are people reading but not posting, that vote, and that if this becomes a popular poll, that it isn’t skewed by alt voting.
Of the top 24 people that have posted in this thread (93% of all the posts are from 24 characters, with 1152 posts at the time), here’s my prediction of how they would vote:

| Galaxy Chicken | 4 | No | 0.3% | 1075 | 93.3% |
The top 6 of us in the thread have 70% of the posts covered.
It’s really just a small group of us bumping the thread very loudly. Not much for CCP to base a change on.
In any case, of the top 24 posters in the thread, my prediction if they voted is 18 No, 6 Yes (noting that Galaxy Chicken is an alt of Galaxy Pig)

Thank you!
You should do this for some other threads as well. : - )
I wake up and see 179new posts. Salvos calm down please
You’re some kind of data analysis wizard! Maybe you should work for CCP.
Theres at least 2 dozen antigankers that log 10 hours + a week each following us around, its a large part of what they do in eve if not the only thing. You’re saying they cant train 2 talos? What a load of crap
It is a chapter from the book The Road to Serfdom. It points out how in a collectivist system with a dictator it is actually inevitable for the very worst among us to rise to positions of power. That the dictator is faced with a choice. Either violate the most basic moral principles or accept failure. Since dictators do not want to accept failure they turn to the worst among us to help implement the policies they believe will work and to implement them in horrible and awful ways.
And the reason why such systems end up with a dictator is that the Plan that the collectivists come up with is at best cobbled together and even those who created it don’t really like it. And that Plan is not liked by everyone nor necessarily a majority. So the Plan doesn’t work. So soon there are calls for the “Right Man” who can make the plan work.
Seeing as how you are quoting Carlin , here is one for you to reflect on with your complaints about this thread.
“Just because you got the monkey off your back, doesn’t mean the circus has left town.”
Interesting.
We already have that, though. I mean, the worst possible people at power positions literally everywhere, including politics. We did not need collectivism for this. It is not the people who seek to do good, it is mostly people who seek power who get into high positions. Sociopaths and psychopaths dominate, because they are the one who have the urge to seek high positions. Career politicians are a great example of that, and politics is full of them.
We have this situation thanks to lack of values, standards and hyper capitalism. Where what matters is making money and lowering expenses in the name of the share holder.
So … I fail to quite see his point. This is not related to collectivism at all, it is a consequence of politics and modern media forming a society of selfish assholes. And to make it worse, in the modern era it is people who believe they do good, who are the absolutely worst of the worst, who will reach positions of power, changing society. The effects we already see in threads like the Main AFK cloaky thread, or literally every other thread dominated by loud mouthing carebears.
Thank you, Bill Clinton.
Btw, I think this is against the forum rules.
I do believe that you guys are making a serious attempt to get the thread closed with RL stuff. That is fascism…
OK, so what you fail to understand is that while security status does not matter to you, it does matter to them. That is the main reason you do not see many people do it.
Bugger off. This thread has no point, no meaning, and no sense. It all exists only in your head, because you want it to exist. There is no problem. The only problem here is that really bad people exaggerate a non-issue, abusing the good will of people like you and others for their own asshole-ish purposes.
