I don’t think so, because when the pilot is afk anyway, he not only can not complain about being bumped (because he does not know), but he also has willingly put himself at risk anyway.
Active pilots… sure. People who aren’t even there, though, do not deserve being saved anyway. They are pretty much asking for it, freighter or otherwise.

Autopilot is a legit player command.
Whether the player is there, or not, doesnt matter in terms of bump mechanics.

I don’t use a bumper Salvos. My targets sit still in an asteroid belt. They either warp off as soon as my scout appears in local (His name is probably already hard-coded in their bot software) or they die where they are.
But really, just because I don’t use bumps does not mean you idea is not completely stupid.
Every pyramid needs a solid foundation out of miner corpses me thinks. I completely agree that what you do is ganking on a completely different level though
