Ganking cancer

You’re completely missing the point.

I cannot just attack anyone in HS like I can in NS, because CONCORD will destroy my ship.

The time it takes for CONCORD to arrive is only a very minor detail compared to the fact that CONCORD is guaranteed to destroy your ship in HS for attacking a random target.

Even if it took an hour for CONCORD to arrive to kill gankers CONCORD would still deter many ganks from happening in HS. In fact, it would probably deter ganking more than it does today. Imagine being stuck in space unable to warp for an hour while waiting for CONCORD to arrive.

And delaying concord to 10 minutes won’t matter since the gankers can get the kill in 4 seconds does it?

love how as soon someone complain about ganking an horde of trolls wake up to trash him, just so an ISD can come and close the post.

Because how you dare make a post about it

I’m trying to figure out how delaying the police hurts the gankers as this man says. Making PvP easier hurts those who PvP… I’m trying to reason this one out…

Oh I’m not saying delaying CONCORD hurts gankers. I’m saying that a delayed CONCORD still hurts gankers.

Minor difference.

So… let’s use an example…

5 T1 Catalysts enter the system and blast a Hulk in 6 seconds… Concord doesn’t show up because they have another 4 minutes and 54 seconds… (5 minute delay). So the Catalysts can now move in on the other Exhumers in the system since they brought all the bumpers they’d need- one for each Exhumer. No one can warp out.

They take out another Hulk leaving them about 3.5 minutes to spare. They move in and take out on more Hulk before that Pesky 3 minute bump timer lets the remaining Exhumers warp out. Then they simply stay there waiting for Concord.

The gankers just took out 3 ships instead of one for the price of 5 destroyers. Not bad! Not bad at all.

and I and saying that delaying Concord HELPS the gankers.

There is a difference though.
Just as example: let’s say you run lvl4 missions. You can have a Battleship with T2/meta fit. And it’s doable.
Now the difference:

  • High-sec: you can do it almost being asleep. Agent gave you a mission 2-3 jumps away? Use autopilot, return to PC half an hour later and do the mission. Then set a destination to the station and press autopilot again. Done.
  • Low-sec: You can get hunted right in the mission area. Agent gave you mission 2-3 jumps away? You’d need some attention and patience. Being AFK is possible (I have done it before) but You can always return to find yourself destroyed and podded.

And if it’s not enough, then do a next step: upgrade to Faction/Pirate Battleship. Again: if you use T2 modules nobody will ever pay attention to you in high-sec. Do the same in low-sec and pretty soon you will have a nice party with locals.

Yes, it does. Did I say otherwise?

I’m saying that the existence of CONCORD still hurts gankers, regardless of the delay.

Wait… You can safely autopilot in High Sec? Since when?!
BTW, Shoutout to @Aiko_Danuja for this kill.

Man, PLEX-tanked Shuttle was always safe to autopilot.

Is a safe space for Null Bears

You know so much for one who knows so little

They would be quite happy though in null shooting apples in a barrel as they get stuck in a bubble.

Same, except 15 years for me (coming up on 16).

I see ganking as part of the EVE ecosystem. But my problem with ganking is the same as with any aspect of EVE where avoidance is the only meaningful counterplay. I don’t like that a ganker can put a gun to my head, and until they pull the trigger, my only option is to run away. Once they pull the trigger, it’s already to late.

I’ve said in a few threads, I’ll say it again here: disabling safeties (red) in hisec should incur a persistent suspect flag. Add a timer to enable or disable safeties (10-30s), and you now have meaningful counterplay to ganking and a risk/reward decision for gankers to make.

There is people ganking with -10 security status which makes you not only suspect, but also targeted by the factional police few seconds after you land.

Your “fix” does nothing. Another 15 year newbie who never undocked.

It won’t stop some gankers, but would allow players to engage Tornados at the Jita gate.

Or am I missing something there, Molea Enjoyer?

If you leave a station in Null after ganking, you can launch right away.

-10’s in High Sec are always free to attack without a penalty.
