Ganking intel question

I was thinking a frigate class Deathless ship which would use an “ion” type gun to first disable the shields of the target, at which point becoming disabled any propulsion or momentum would cease (so the target would gradually slow to a stop). Then a specific type of looting breacher pod could be deployed that would loot only.

If armed (Upwell), the freighter could still fight back - only it’s propulsion/warp capability is disrupted.

Yeah the details can be fine tuned, may it be ship class based or a generic device and other details, the concept has potential. Though I guess it would be best to create an own thread for it if you want to further iterate and get feedback in general, not to derail this thread.

We should be able to mount a module that not only blocks the scan with a return signal of nothing in the cargo hold but would also a warning to the scanning ship, that if the cargo scan happened again, the ship being scanned could attack the scanning ship.

I can even see new haulers designed around such a defense mechanism.

Being able to scan someone’s cargo hold to see what they have, that is extremely f**king invasive.

You could maybe use a hauler that is immune to cargo scanning by design.

Blockade Runners are pretty awesome even when not cloaked.

The problem with Blockade Hunters is that while they do block scans - they can’t stand up against most gank attempts.

Blockade Runners are my hauler of choice in null sec because of their good align time, warp speed and most of all, covert ops cloak.

Surely a ship that goes untouched even though bubble-camped null sec gates can avoid gankers in HS?

You just shouldn’t fly it on auto-pilot.
