Ganking is a valid form of gameplay, just like PvP everywhere else in EVE Online, and it takes practice to get good at, more inside

I don’t even know what to say about it. Red Frog should know better and why on earth they aren’t even using a webbing scout to fly with them.

I can’t speak for everyone else other than suggesting that perhaps the webbing at the gate on the freighter was to help align the payload.

This may not always work as the amount of incoming damage is unavoidable when a gank was first fully scanned and ships were sent to meet the required damage threshold before Concord lands on grid.

Just in case there are any new players reading this thread. I just hauled a couple billion isk of Thukker Cap Batteries to Jita through Uedama without any trouble what so ever. I wasn’t cargo scanned, I wasn’t targeted, I wasn’t ganked, I wasn’t shot with fire works or a snowball from a snowball launcher. I just warped to 0 over and over in my mastodon, and put my batteries up on the market in Jita.

Don’t let these fear mongers scare you. Learn the tricks and travel is easy peasy.

I had originally blamed ganking as the core issue, Its not its allowing people to play 12 accounts at the same time in PVP game. Imagine logging into counter strike and having one guy playing the entire other team and he beats you? Welcome to eve online that happens everyday. At this point it just CCP greed gone wild. I would bet 99% of eve online problems could be solved by limiting players to 3 simultaneous online characters at time. Most of the gankers are playing 5+ accounts. Imagine how this would effect ice mining in high sec? The massive amount of multi-boxing in eve online has damaged the game in so many ways.

If 12 players can’t beat a single player playing 12 accounts, the issue isn’t the single guy…

Sure, remove multiboxing, see how the market/game reacts to it.

I always wonder what these people think will happen - CCP is gonna come along, read this thread, and on Tuesday they will remove both ganking and multiboxing? It’s like playing Monopoly and constantly writing Milton-Bradley, asking them to remove money and property.

Hotels are driving new players away!!!

:hotel: :sob: :hotel:

Remove multiboxing and prices of item will go up and prices of PLEX would go down.

Should have marked it as sarcasm.

No multibox - no army of diggers on belts… less money CCP will make by selling Omega. Would be more interesting to have 1 player - 1 character, to force people to interact and coordinate more… but will be a problem for Titan pilots…

Anyway, ganking for 2 window player is too boring and before there were emails with complaints from those who was teleported to the station… now they take it more easy (maybe just rage quit, I do not know). So moving to nullsec until I decide to play a piano (6+ windows) and try ganking again.

I regularly pass through Uedama while suspect hunting…..sometimes I even lurk cloaked at the Uedama/Sivala gate. Frankly, most of the time Uedama is devoid of any gankers. There’s a few regular anti-gankers hanging about, and that’s about it.

Did not play for some 15 years and tried again, but I don’t think that I will continue. I know that if I want more fun or rewards I need to go into riskier areas. Since this bs hisec ganking goes without any risk, but high rewards, killing all of the efforts other players put in to have fun, and since this thread like countless others shows, this community is toxic af.

Ofc the op needs to lie and glorify his actions and skills as a ganker (only gankers do that). Skill? lol. High risk? wtaf? Planning? haha

Ridiculous.

Welcome back to the game Calimer0m0nster!

There’s a nice trick to be immune to ganking in EVE which I used for years, which is to live outside HS space.

I never see any gankers there. Just roaming gangs, blops hunters and gatecamps that destroy my ship from time to time, but never gankers.

It teaches you to stay alive by your own skills rather than relying on the relative (yet not completely reliable) safety created by the threat of punishment by CONCORD.

I both agree and disagree.

I disagree that PvP in a PvP game is toxic.

Toxicity in gaming in my opinion is not about players who follow the game mechanics as intended.

Toxicity is about the attitude of players towards others in a manner that goes far beyond sportsmanlike rivalry.

Toxic actions would be to insult other players for their playstyle, or to ask for the removal of the playstyle of other players for selfish reasons.

I often see those kinds of actions in EVE, especially in the many threads where people ask for the removal of the gameplay of high sec piracy for selfish reasons.

So I agree people are toxic in EVE, but I fear we have entirely different people in mind.

I hope that helped!

I cannot “live” in Nullsec. I did it when I began playing many years ago. But I was part of a bigger alliance, I had time, and I could stay in TS for many hours.

Now I just want to play with my two omegas in typical pve-areas. Sometimes I opt in to higher risks and go into lowsec, and if I get caught, it was my decision. No problem. But when I lose a huge part of my stuff cos of someone making hisec toxic af and who has NOT RISK or CONSEQUENCES at all, I just don’t know hy I still should pay for the game.

I dont want any “gameplay” removed, I just want meaningful consequences and risks for people whose only meaningful joy in life is to destroy fun of others.

Destroying others is a large part of this PvP game, which makes advertisements like “build your dreams, wreck their dreams”.

If such a game design isn’t the kind of gameplay you are looking for, maybe EVE isn’t the right game for you?

If you post your lossmails, we can tell you what you did wrong and then this will be less likely to happen to you in the future.

HS ganking is easily prevented. You can survive a gank attempt. I flew with Aiko and she proved to me that ganking is harder than surviving a gank.

If you want some advice and help, ask. If you want to tuck tail and go play Hello Kitty Island Adventure for safe fun, fine.

Mining ships can be protected so that they are gank proof. Freighters can too. You don’t even need any scouts. You just need to avoid flying faction freighters. Also avoid flying the cheap ass faction T1 haulers. Fly T2 Covert Ops Blockade Runners.

Hello @Calimer0m0nster

If you are having fun in the game, don’t allow these ganking threads to keep you from having fun. They have been going on for years, always sound the same, and never improve the game or their own arguments.

I spend most of my time in High Sec. I run lvl 4 missions, afk mine, haul stuff from one trade hub to another to resell and do light industry and research. I have never been ganked, not even once. Ganking is not an epidemic problem.

These threads warning about the epidemic of high sec ganking are just fear mongering.

Occasionally gankers will get a great haul, and post videos about it, but mostly high sec ganking is waiting and waiting and not profiting. It’s like pvp videos. The videos contain footage of great fights, but don’t include hours spend hunting and having people warp off as you warp in.

Watch MacGybo’s ganking videos, ganking looks very boring to me. It actually makes hauling look exciting. And then realize that most of his videos are edited to remove most of the waiting.

If you are having fun doing what you don’t let other people harsh your mellow because they are making 1.2billion isk an hour with their “elite ganking, elite exploration, elite station trading, etc” game play. Most of this is just posturing and trying to get clicks anyway. Have fun playing the game the way you want to play it. Just don’t expect others to change their game play to please you.

I dont know why posting thread after thread on this is going to achieve anything. CCP like piracy, they like scamming and all the other shenanigans that have been in the game for aeons.

If you want change undock and burn Jita everyday until you get the change you want.
