Hi all, mi regards, i am starting a new topic , about the Gila appearance, i think its time to redesign this iconic ship, because the current design still gets me some strange feeling , about that “HUMP” in the neck of the ship, just like the Thorax, Phobos, Vigilant and Deimos line of ships was redesigned recently, i am pretty sure that a loot of people feel the same, i hope you take this suggestion idea to contemplate at future, ty for the time, bye guys………….
A bump to drone bandwidth would be better
Why?
As far as I am aware there is no indication where a cockpit would be, or for this game a place where the pod the characters control the ship from would be placed.
The green circled area looks like the most likely spot for a cockpit, but our characters are in a pod full of gel so it doesnt make sense to have a traditional cockpit.
Let’s assume it is until someone says otherwise. Behind it, where that hump appears would probably be where the crew operates and lives.
I don’t typically fly Gila so I am not sure where the missiles come from. The drone bay takes the majority of the lower half of the body section though. It looks like the missiles might be coming out of the neck portion nearly parallel and behind the assumed cockpit. That would then mean a lot of the machinery to reload missiles would instead be where that hump in the neck would be required.
If anyone is willing to show a gila in action while it is firing I think it would help.
I personally don’t care for the gila so i’m not going to go buy one to see where it fires from.
Did you know that the moa hull (same as Gila) has gotten a redesign? Well it used to look like the below image. I think some other ships could use a redesign before we go back over the Gila/Moa.

Is this the first time you hear about Guristas ships?
Guristas ships are drone-based ships that also use missiles, but instead of many drones they have two superbuffed drones. Low drone bandwidth, but high drone hitpoints and much higher damage per drone.
Increasing drone bandwidth would go with a nerf to damage and hitpoints per drone to keep the ship balanced, but that just turns it into a regular non-Guristas drone boat like a Vexor.
Yep, there’s many other ships that could use a redesign before they redo the ships that already got a redesign.
The Gila/Onyx/Moa/Eagle design looks pretty good to me.

As far as ship appearances go, it’s one of the best looking ships in my opinion. There are so many ships that are ugly. Why would you nitpick this one?
