If you really want me to just shut up and use a rokh to mine, gimme one and the modules to use it.
With a mobile depod you can swap lasers for guns on-site, in case of troubles. I never mine, though: i did it on Vendetta Online and BSGO, that’s enough for me.
Generally used on internet forums, inb4 refers to a user posting a reply to a message/topic “before” another user posts an obvious response.

I think this is working as intended. When you don’t mine AFK you can use D-Scan. When you use D-Scan you can go for WH gas.
From the Wiki: “While gas cloud harvesters can be mounted on any ship with turret slots, only the ORE Venture and ORE Prospect have bonuses to their use.”
Alphas can fly the second best gas mining ship.
More Wiki: The Prospect has a larger ore hold for the gas, and a larger regular cargo hold allowing for a mobile depot to be carried. However, it harvests at the same rate as an equivalently skilled Venture, and is considerably more expensive.
One could even say: Alphas can use the best gas mining ship when you are risk averse. It’s 20 Mil. ISK per trip when you go for the common Fullerite-C50. More when you have freinds in high class WHs. (One Venture full of Fullerite-C320 gets you 55 Mil. ISK.)

That’s debatable. Anyhow, the Prospect is the only ship in EVE that can tank 4x Sleepless Sentinels.

yep, I warped into a gas site in my Venture, which had already been ninja gas harvested and immediately got killed. I just warped in, saw the sleepers, and died.
You can use d-scan to pre-scan the site for sleepers before warping in (may need some pinging between celestials to make a proper nearby bookmark to do this from but some extra safespots never hurt in wh space anyway) or alternatively you can leave your ship at a nearby safespot, warp to the site in your pod to see if it is occupied and back (though this will reduce your time available for harvesting as it triggers the sleeper spawn count down I think).

Don’t remember it was a long time I did gas harvesting or wh exploration in general. Hopefully someone knows. I did a quick google search but no useful results but you may find an answer with more time dedicated to searching.

I am sorry to hear that. Unfortunately there is no way to determine if a gas site has been activated (meaning scanned down and warped to - the Sleepers warp in 20 or 30 minutes after the first warp attempt, even if you abort the warp).
If you have a cloaked ship, you can warp at range and bookmark the gas clouds. The Sleepers are usually in the middle of both clouds.
You need to create an overview preset that includes NPCs and load that profile on the d-scan.
You find all NPCs under “entities” and my advice is, you add the diamond tag ones to all of your presets, so there are no surprises.

Now that I have pyfa, I ran some numbers on what is what and I am happy to report the following values:

The mining laser Rokh with 2x t2 mining laser upgrades and 5x t2 mining drones mine a total of 20.5m³ per second with mining drone specialization at level 5

A Procurer with 1x t2 mining laser upgrades, 2x t2 strip miners and t2 laser crystals mine a total of 15.2m³ per second

A Retriever with 2x t2 mining laser upgrades, 2x t2 strip miners and t2 crystals mine a total of 15.2m³ per second
-
A Covetor with the same equipment mines a total of 20.3m³ per second
I didn’t use mining drones on the barges because those are your defense. The Rokh can sit in a null asteroid belt and ignore triple battleship spawns all day long.
Conclusion,
if the values in pyfa are correct, the Rokh’s mining capability is op and very much above a t1 mining barge.

If you really want to make a statement fit up a battle cruiser or battleship with mining lasers and cargo hold expanders and rigs.
