GM Week 2026 - Call for Questions!

The interview cleared up a lot. The GMs really don’t play the game that much. Not sure if thats a good or a bad thing. But it explains the discussions sometimes when they obviously not know how the related mechanics work and you get different answers from different GMs. -_-

What on earth does this new agent memory thing mean in regards to ingame interactions? explain it to me like i was a child.

Will it effect mission handouts or is it being put into place for a new planned agent/mission/dungeon thing?

Kind regards

Lugburz

It shouldnt need to be compressed

The change means the mission system will hog a lot fewer resources in the future, and will be easier to expand on with new features, and for the GMs to interact with to solve issues you may have. It shouldn’t affect anything meaningful, since the rollover period will be extensive, and the major feature that will be lost if you don’t interact with an agent within the window is the little narrative “Hey Lugburz, don’t think I’ve forgotten how you flaked out on the last mission I gave you! Anyway, here’s Angel Extravaganza, you up?” if you timed out a mission previously, ie nothing that matters.

It will however cause some troubles with research agents, since standard practice there is to just not do the missions they hand out, so if you’re running research agents you’ll need to go do a single mission for each one after the new system is implemented to make sure the state is saved properly.

All this information is available in the dev blog, and the GMs are entirely the wrong people to ask about this, they deal mostly with “my cash shop purchase didn’t go through, can you check the log and give me my PLEX” and “I disconnected while in abyss, please reimburse my 8b isk Gila”.

I will try to explain and hopefully it helps. The agent memory is not a new thing. Agents have always had a memory of interacting with players - FCCP is just changing the way the data is stored in the databases. Some of the data will be automatically converted to the new format, but some of it won’t.

A simple way to illustrate what the agent memory is: Think of going to a shop to order a meal.

  1. They remember if you are allowed in the establishment, or not.
  2. They remember if they offered you something.
  3. They remember if you accepted and they can actually start making it.
  4. They remember the progress of that new order as it is being prepared/made/cooked.
  5. They remember the last order that was completed.
  6. They remember whether you paid for the last order or skipped out.

Basically the same for agents:

  1. Agents remember if they are allowed to talk to you. For career agents and cosmos agents which are one-time only, if you completed their missions they remember that they must not offer you anything more in the future. Storyline agents remember if you have a storyline offer, otherwise they won’t talk to you. Epic arc ‘start’ agents remember if it has been 3 months since their arc was completed, otherwise they won’t talk to you. Other epic arc agents remember if you are busy with their specific segment of the arc, otherwise they won’t talk to you.
  2. Agents remember if they offered you a mission. They then wait to see if you will accept or decline it.
  3. Agents remember if you accepted a mission and is busy with it.
  4. Agents keep track of the progress of the active mission. They remember whether any objectives have been completed, such as destroying certain enemies, whether bonus rewards still apply, etc.
  5. Agents remember the last mission that you completed. Prevents repeating the same mission offer. Also useful for missions that have multiple chapters. For example if you completed Recon 1 of 3, they know to offer chapter 2 next. This also applies to career agents and epic arc agents so that they know what mission to offer next in the chain.
  6. Agents remember whether you completed or failed the last mission, or refused it. This affects the dialogue as pointed out by @Anna_Dyneaux . In the case of refusals they also check if there were multiple successive refusals in 4 hours which will result in standing penalties.

Yeah, exploration sites / Cosmic Signatures have been a bit scarce lately… More so on weekends…

Probably due to GM week with more players logged into the game…
