Condor
[Lore sourced from Frigates of EVE book]
Current Description
The Condor is fast and agile. It has limited cargo space so it’s not very suitable for trading or mining. It is best used as an assault vessel in a hit-and-run type of operations.
Submission Description
The Condor can be described in these two words - Pure. Speed. - With a 5MN Microwarpdrive (Or 1MN Afterburner) the Condor is a speed demon that can run with the best with them and leave unfortunate targets with limited time to escape.
Designed by the Kaalakiota Corporation under contract by the Caldari Navy. The Condor is a vessel that excels greatly as a ship for scouting or skirmishing. It would find use by the Caldari Navy as a fast and nimble ship for patrols or high speed pursuits.
The Condor was initially designed to be a light fighter, to be deployable and dependent on carriers. However, after the rampant attacks against naval assets by the Guristas pirates in the Mito constellation, the Condor would taken back to the drawing board and scaled up to become a full fledged frigate. The start as a fighter craft however can still be seen in the streamlined design New Eden has today.
Following typical tradition with other Caldari ships, the Condor is another missile platform with hard points suitable for missiles or rocket systems. Aside from weaponry, the Condor has some of the most bleeding edge electronics stuffed into it, allowing for a beautiful harmony between the ship and electronic warfare modules like warp disrupters/scrambles or stasis webs.
With a lightweight and minimalistic chassis, the Condor is a fragile ship that’s better off using a missile system and warp disrupter to stay out of range of a target’s weaponry and keep them stuck on grid. However, if you need to use a scrambler to knock out a target’s propulsion module - the Condor can be fitted with rocket systems to get in close and personal.
