Current Description
The Griffin is much used by the Caldari Navy as a support vessel in combat squadrons, using its impressive array of electronic gadgetry to disrupt the operation of target ships, making them easy prey for traditional combat vessels.
Submission Description
Blistering with array units all over it’s hull, the Griffin is for the pilot not interested in winning every fight with brute force - The Griffin is the champion of electronic counter measures (ECM) in it’s class, that’s capable of jamming any targeting system that exists in New Eden. LADAR (Minmatar), radar (Amarrian), gravimetric (Caldari) and magnetometric (Gallente) systems are all vulnerable to this small and delicate craft. A wise pilot would look into what they’re opponents are bringing to the fight, then fit accordingly to stand a better chance of jamming their systems.
In forty years, the Griffin has built a fearsome reputation for itself. Captains commanding ships as large as battleships can feel a chill run down their spine the second one of these tiny crafts land on grid, because the Griffin can temporarily turn their big mighty warship into a useless hundred million ISK paperweight. A ship that’s incapable of locking the enemy up is a ship incapable of fighting back.
Aside from turning targets into helpless victims ready to be bludgeoned to death, a Griffin can be used to disrupt “Logistic chains” set up by logistical wings of enemy fleets. A logistical cruiser that can’t target it’s comrades to transfer repairs or capacitor energy could very well cost their entire force the battle.
Don’t let the size fool you, the Griffin is not to be taken lightly.
It should be noted, that ECM is not guaranteed jam on activation. Factors such as distance from the target or the pilot’s personal skill play a role in whatever or not the target will be jammed. ECM modules all run on cycles that will attempt again and again, With successful jams lasting until cycle completion.
