[Okay, I’ll just do it like this from now on]
Atron
[Lore sourced from Frigates of EVE book]
Current Description
The Atron is a hard nugget with an advanced power conduit system, but little space for cargo. Although it is a good harvester when it comes to mining, its main ability is as a combat vessel.
Submission Description
Qualifying as a frigate just barely, the Atron was the Federation Navy’s answer to the Caldari State’s lightning fast Condor. This ship is for those looking to fly at high speeds and run down any long-range equipped vessels.
Under contract by the Federation Navy, the Atron was designed by Roden Shipyards after the Caldari Navy first unveiled Condor in combat, which would immediately exploit the limitations of the Federal Navy’s more bulkier and slow Incrusus and Comet.
The Atron had to be designed to chase these frigates down and unleash hellfire at point blank range. As such, with a 5MN Microwarp drive, three blaster turrets and a stasis webifier - the Atron can run up on any pilot trying to pull range, web them down, and ventilate their hull with antimatter charges. That said, the Atron is also no stranger to the occasional brawl with another short-range vessel. Capable of supporting a small ancillary armor repairer module, the Atron can provide itself repairs in a engagement, but if the armor fails - some Atrons may very well have the structure of their ship rigged up to be a third - but final - defensive shell.
Maulus
[Lore sourced from Frigates of EVE]
Current Description
The Maulus is a high-tech vessel, specialized for electronic warfare. It is particularly valued in fleet warfare due to its optimization for sensor dampening technology.
Submission Description
The Maulus is a cheap and resourceful electronic counter measure platform designed by Dovolle Laboratories. Perfect for the pilot looking to drag in long range combats for their fleet to chew up
During the first Gallente Caldari war, the Federation Navy needed a cost effective answer to the Caldari’s rampant use of long range tactics and weaponry. Built to utilize sensor dampening modules that can reduce a target’s range and speed to lock-on to anything. By loading a script, the dampening can be swayed towards even less targeting range or longer lock-up times.
Primarily for self-defence, the Mualus has two hardpoint for hybrid turrets and a respectable drone bay and bandwidth, capable of storing six combat drones and deploying four at a time.
Incursus
[Lore sourced from Frigates of EVE]
Current Description
The Incursus may be found both spearheading and bulwarking Gallente military operations. Its speed makes it excellent for skirmishing duties, while its resilience helps it outlast its opponents on the battlefield. Incursus-class ships move together in groups and can quickly and effectively gang up on ships many times their size and overwhelm them. In recent years the Incursus has increasingly found its way into the hands of pirates, who love its aggressive appearance.
Submission Description
The Incursus is a poster-frigate of the Gallente Federation. An agile, broad-shouldered frontline combat frigate ready to pierce though the confidence of anyone going toe-to-toe with it.
As the aggressive - yet - heroic design implies, the Incrsus is a ship designed to be a in-your-face brawler, with a formidable armor skin that can be furthered reinforced by additional low-power armor modules. Most notably, small armor repair modules, which enable pilots to self-repair their armor plating in the heat of battle. The Incursus is in fact designed to use these specific modules, thus sporting advanced nanorepair pumps to improve repair efficiency. This trait leads to the creation of the more infamous “Duel rep” incursus that sports two of these modules to double their repair output. This - obviously applies ridiculous strain on the ship’s capacitor and would thus be supplemented by a small electrochemical capacitor booster in their mid-power slots to eject additional power when needed.
Being such an independent, ruthlessly efficient and cost-effective frontline vessel, the Incrusus quickly established itself as an extremely popular ship in the Federation Navy, taking place right under it’s technological successor the Comet for the most loved vessel of Navy service personnel. This popularity lead to it appearing in countless recruitment ads throughout it’s year in service and used as a symbol in propaganda posters to strike fear in their enemies.
For the frigate class, the Incursus is the representative of the Gallente’s military prowess.
Navitas
[Lore sourced from Frigates of EVE]
Current Description
In YC114 each major empire faction, having been embroiled in a harrowing, extensive, long-term war, recognized the growing need for support and logistics functionality in their vessels during the kind of protracted interstellar warfare that might otherwise prove exhausting for its participants. In the Gallente Federation, this led to the redesign and redeployment of the Navitas.
The Navitas had been a solid mining vessel that had seen wide use by independent excavators, along with being one of the best ships available for budding traders and even for much-maligned scavengers. After its redesign, its long-range scanners and sturdy outer shell gave way entirely for remote repairing capabilities, moving the Navitas away from the calming buzz of mining lasers and into the roar of battle.
Submission Description
The Navitas is the standard logistical platform in the frigate class of the Gallente Federation. A welcomed addition to any small fleet enforcing an armor doctrine.
Developed first by Outer Ring Excavations however, the Navitas would first appear in New Eden as a mining vessel with a cargo bay big enough to hold any goods dug up. This cargo bay however would also find itself as a popular choice for traders, smugglers who use the ample cargo space to move small-scale goods across long distances. Oddly enough, the size of the cargo bay can (and has been) be remodeled into a compact pleasure hub.
The Navitas would enter proper military service in YC 114 with the CONCORD Emergency Militia War Powers Act going into action. Engineers of the Federal Combined Armed Forces would take the design of the Navitas, used up some of the extra cargo space to store subsystems turned to hand out remote logistical supports.
Imicus
[Lore sourced from Frigates of EVE]
Current Description
The Imicus is a slow but hard-shelled frigate, ideal for any type of scouting activity. Used by merchant, miner and combat groups, the Imicus is usually relied upon as the operation’s eyes and ears when traversing low security sectors.
Submission Description
Quite possibly the strangest frigate design to come out of the Gallente Federation, the Imicus is the half-baked drone platform design of the CreoDron Corporation. A frigate that makes up for all it’s flaws as a astrometric platform that excels at deep space exploration and scouting.
Initially cobbled together to be a competitor to Roden Shipyard’s Tristan, the Imicus wouldn’t see production until half a decade later after the original blueprint was first shown to the Federal Navy. It would enter service as a non-combat scouting and reconnaissance vessel, at first the adoption of this vessel was slow, with it having horrendous maintenance issues across all units it was issued into. Kinks that would all be dinged out by the time it entered the wider commercial sector as a astrometric platform.
Offensively, don’t expect this vessel to stand tall against a serious and more dedicated combat vessel. The imicus sports only one hardpoint for a Hybrid turret - but contains a drone system and bay more sophisticated than it’s counterparts in the other empires.
The onboard 300-series photon microprocessor mainframe developed by Duvolle Laboratories also gives the Imicus an edge with handling any tasks that require a data or relic analyzer.
Tristan
[Lore sourced from Frigates of EVE]
Current Description
Often nicknamed The Fat Man this nimble little frigate is mainly used by the Federation in escort duties or on short-range patrols. The Tristan has been very popular throughout Gallente space for years because of its versatility. It is rather expensive, but buyers will definitely get their money’s worth, as the Tristan is one of the more powerful frigates available on the market.
Submission Description
For the pilot looking to wield a swarm of killer robotic drones to eviscerate their opposition, the Tristan is a dedicated drone-platform that offers a wide range of flexibility.
Developed by Roden Shipyards, the Tristan has established a reputation as a dependable workhouse to the Federal Navy that can adapt to a multitude of situations. Going into battle against a Tristan is like pulling a wildcard, the Tristan has far more liberty with it’s fittings given that most of the firepower is in the ship’s drone capabilities. Some Tristans can be found both at long-range and close range, with three slots for high-power modules and two turret hardpoints, a Tristan can be given a small energy neutralizer and two blasters to inflict some serious close-range punishment - or go all out with three energy neutralizers to leave targets with no power to fight back. Long-range shield Tristans can be found without any high-powered modules at all in favor of putting the vessel’s CPU and PG towards stronger shield integrity or drone control. While effective fitted either with shields or armor, some pilots will even jury rig their structure to be a final and thick last line of defence.
The Tristan is a ship worthy of calling itself an combat frigate, undoubtedly one to not underestimate or scoff at.
