“Ogre I” Original Description: “Heavy Attack Drone”
New Description:
Development of this heavier, more robust drone came with much delight to pilots who were faced with greater threats. However the drawback of the simplistic design gave no wiggle room for speed, but what it lacks in speed is made up in sheer destructive power.
After a successful launch in 2005 and testing was completed at the test site: “Angel Military Complex” in deep space, it was released to the public for purchase and use.
During the first roll out, issues began arising as pilots found themselves having trouble controlling the drones, often times when used in a mining fleet, would engage at random the friendly pilots. If not taken back, into control within moments, a ships structural integrity would be compromised, or worse, decimated within moments of realization.
Complaints, and sheer outcry began to flow through the air, so production was hastily halted in 2006. A new laboratory with a dedicated team of scientists developed a coating that was put over the CPU and GPU components of these drones to isolate their sporadic behavior and attempt to eliminate the issue of “Rouge Drones”.
During the official release of the newest version of the OGRE and with a greater volume of sales, the development team worked on factional variants, as well as its upgraded counter part, the OGRE II.
BREAKING NEWS: 2019 has seen the first relapse in Rouge tendencies. We will have more updates as reports come in…
