GPU Driven Pipeline/Carbon Update - Known Issues

Thank you at least i know i’m not the only one. this problem was taking me mad for days. I have 144 FPS everywhere (HS WH LS Jita), but in NS I have 80-90 FPS maximum and at every docking and gate jumping I have an additional drop for a few seconds and go to 30-40 FPS. I tried changing settings but it has nothing to do with it. I should have 144 FPS everywhere even in NS with my PC.

I don’t think this specific problem in NS is related to the latest update because it was doing it before too, it just wasn’t as noticeable.

Is it playable? Yes, but fix it.

That’s a very good setup, I just hope that the the system and EVE are in the SSD while having EVE fully downloaded.

With the change EVE felt smoother, but I am getting random client crashes when I dock/undock or take gate, so session changes. I always crash if dock Jita 4-4, then I relog and I m inside the station.

During session changes the performance tanks and sometimes one client will freeze and keep frozen until it crashes.

Thanks CCP, nice change.

Hi there, I have heavy FPS drops and GPU goes to 100% when in Null Sec. Game is unplayable, I can’t jump from system to system. It freezes the game. This makes it impossible to haul stuff if there are neuts in the system because I can’t MWD + Cloak trick with the game freezing.

This only happens in Null Sec. I travel from Jita to my home system without problems untill I’m in Null Sec.

You can’t expect your 10 to 20 year old gaming rig to last forever. At some point you have to upgrade…

ty for nothing mr obvious
And pcs not are 20 years old just 50 ^^
Better say nothing…

Logged in while being in a capsule on a station in high sec, I saw a “normal” FPS. I spent about 5 minutes in industry and other windows, and the FPS dropped down to 2. What the heck? I logged out, logged back in, and I see 51 FPS. I switched the game window to the browser and back — boom, 64 FPS. When I was writing this text, I switched back to the game and I see 88 FPS. Guys, is there any explanation?

Well, apparently it’s the overheating issue caused by the code quality.

My four-month top-notch computer with performance issues after the shitty game update is like:
— Am I a joke to you?

Dont waste your time on ppl dont have an idea about.
I can play modern games than eve without problems and all eve but not in null but problem is pc.
Yeah still we are running windows xp ^^

I am running 5 instances on an 8-year-old system with a 1060 with zero issues. Maybe don’t also have Netflix, Spotify, and 137 other things running in the background at once…

As a side note, FPS doesn’t mean jack squat in EVE. The server runs on 1 second ticks, no matter if you are getting 300 fps or 30 fps…

Long story short, the bulk of players aren’t having an issue with it. So yes, it’s your system…

Do you really think that means the game devs shouldn’t be worried about another group of players that is experimenting issues?

Yes, it’s our operation system called macOS which is listed as officially supported here and that the game devs should make their game engine work properly on it if the computer meets official recommended requirements. I assure you, my setup is better than the recommended requirements, so 2 FPS is not my system’s fault. The update brought degradation of performance.

Gaming on a Mac is like running a used Volvo in a NASCAR race. Sure, you can do it. But why?

Obviously, because it’s officially supported on par with Windows and your comparison with cars is completely meaningless

My point was that Macs aren’t known for their prowess when it comes to gaming…

Well, your point has nothing to do with CCP’s contract.

No, actually - it’s not their systems. There have been a lot of minor “tweaks” under the hood since last summer that have not been listed or documented in the patch notes.

The new state-of-the-art system I upgraded to just before the “EVE Evolved” update performed faster (and cooler) than it does now after the update and subsequent patches.

I have an immediate before/after comparison, and since nothing has changed on my end with the hardware - this is entirely a software issue. I’m probably seeing a 5-10% (or greater) performance hit - not the 0-25% improvement that was alluded to.

Again, someone’s brand-new $4000 gaming rig won’t run it, but my POS 8-year-old system can without any issues whatsoever. So yes, it’s their system. Whether it’s drivers, video card issues, OS issues, it’s something to do with their system.

Considering how many players there are in Jita and nullsec at any given time, if this was affecting the majority of those players, there would be hundreds if not thousands of threads and complaints about it both on here and Reddit…

Not my system, OS or network - this is all CCP’s doing. There are hundreds if not thousands of players affected - they’re just not all posting on the forums…

Just be patient - the updates for “EVE Evolved” haven’t even started yet…
