GPU Driven Pipeline/Carbon Update - Known Issues

Same issue for me. Launcher and clients working fine on one PC but having this issue on the other PC. Once it says that the “client is running”, I can’t stop it. It’s stuck there and I have to close the launcher. I’ve also been having issues on this same PC since this latest iteration began with it taking multiple times to get the launcher to actually launch. Once I got it to launch, my clients behaved correctly until this morning.

I just played the game ten hours ago and all was fine. Each PC has a different graphics card, though. So I’m guessing it is related to that.

Only using one PC which works fine on everything else.

No idea what might be the problem since yesterday.

Pretty sure it’s a graphics card issue. I just ordered the same card I have in my other PC, the one that works, on ebay for cheap. Admittedly, I knew this was going to happen eventually as that card is a really old AMD that hasn’t had support since 2015. I play EVE on potatoes and only grudgingly update things as they break or get patched out. :winking_face_with_tongue: The NVidia GT 730 (old as well) works for now and that’s enough for me.

But you also installed several Windows Updates since last summer. So your system is not that of last summer anymore.

todays patch perhaps a step forward but did not fix the main issue.
Even thought it claimed to fix a rare nonresponsiveness of the client it probably not the case of undock in null space. That is still happaning even in potato mode.

Its on a diffrent pc as well (The account thats not starting up after todays patch)

GT710 here - updated the drivers and it now works.

I have the same issue since today patch, client is not starting any more, like last week. I updated all graphic driver and Inter drive but no changes. Last week I was able to fix the issue by setting back to DirectX 11 in Launcher. Now, I disabled the hardware acceleration in Launcher and the client starts again. What is CCP doing, are they patching the game to death… wtf ??

Yeah, this is fixed for me.

Map is also fixed. No more craziness on low shader settings.

Latest issues where the client crashes on startup appear to be related the c++ runtime and you want to download the latest redistributable. This also allowed us to switch back to dx12 from dx11.

Hmm sorry to hear about all of these issues. Not a problem at all on my PC so far, all recent patches worked like a charm. Hope they find a solution for you guys soon!

Latest fun experience: Almost every gate jump makes my clients freeze to the brink of a crash. I just jumped 6 gates and during 4 of them, the client froze for seconds. Then I zoomed in on my ship after a gatejump, which also made the client freeze for a moment. Every single time.

Now I noticed that not only zooming and gate jumps freeze the client, but zoomin anywhere and at any point in time does. This is getting better and better.

This new GPU Thingy really is paying dividends already.

Weird. Was playing before downtime. Now my game will not launch.
Guess I’ll just sit here and not play eve today.

Hummm…still cannot launch. Not sure what more to do.

Yesterday, when the launcher started not launching again, it was dying with an exit code of -1.
Today, after the downtime it is failing with this exit code:

Different exit code, same crap result.

For grins, I went ahead and installed a completely fresh install of windows 11, since my computer had been on windows 11 previously. I have had windows 10 on it for the past few months because my machine would randomly reboot while playing EVE. Oddly enough, nothing has changed with the upgrade to windows 11 - same exit code - same failure to launch.

I have a ticket that is now 26 hours old with my loglites and my support payloads from yesterday, today after DT and today after the upgrade to win 11 attached to that has not been touched at all yet by CCP.

Intel 10600K, Nvidia RTX 3060, both win 10 and 11, and Nvidia drivers released 3/18/25.

Not any wonder with your 7,395 year old graphics card, get an upgrade!

…i jest of course but some guy who doesn’t work for CCP and isn’t getting paid will be along shortly to staunchly throw himself to their defence, and tell you your system is whack, yo!

After yesterday’s update, our FC had the same issue—every warp jump was accompanied by a freeze lasting several seconds, making the game unplayable.

Quoting him: “I get a white screen on every jump.” Restarting and any other attempts to fix it had no effect, so the fleet was disbanded. Today, I’ll check if there are any changes on his end.

same thing for undock in NULL ( for some reason high and low works fine )
