GPU Driven Pipeline/Carbon Update - Known Issues

Oops, 3080, not 3060. But yeah, I know, it’s a “pandemic card”. It can’t be good right?
Laughably, my husband’s system is identical to mine, except for a different physical version of Gigabyte RTX 3080, and his has worked fine the entire time! And yes, we have already swapped the cards. Ergo, it is 100% not hardware related.

I have mine running as well as can be expected on a steam deck and like a fat dog in a pool of syrup on my main machine which has a 4070 in it (so, a Vaccine card?)

Either way I’m sure I’m just holding it wrong :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for the chuckle (“fat dog in a pool of syrup”).

Word. Mine is no where near out of date yet :stuck_out_tongue: Not even a year old!! These asshats need to quit blaming everything and realize they ■■■■■■ it all up. Then fix it. Because as die hard as I am I am about a week or less away from just saying: ■■■■ it, Ill play something else. Something that actually PLAYS.

As a side note, I saw something SUPERE funny and wanted to share it with you guys. Im thinking it is a very early April Fools joke (few days ago :P)
" Revenant just got a [major update], and the evolution continues. New Eden now moves faster, flows smoother, and feels more vibrant than ever. The new [GPU-Driven Rendering Pipeline] is now live, boosting performance and unlocking a more responsive, immersive experience for DirectX 12 and macOS."

BUAAAAAHAHahahahahahahahaha!!! FASTER! SMOOTHER!! HAHAHAHAHA
FART
F ING BOOSTING PERFORMANCE!!! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAhahahahahahah

Is it a thing in Iceland or wherever that you can say whatever lie to your customers you desire? Or is that a thing of the “new” owners?

It was a premature april fools day joke by CCP. A Classic.

Have you tried lifting both feet off the floor and tilting your head 30 degrees to the right when you press “Play Now”?

It’s more immersive for the GPUs - mine are literally basking in their thermal coating…

Well holy shizznit, I downloaded the C++ distributable and thar she launches.
I did a fresh Windows 11 install today, and fresh Win 10 install a couple of months ago. I suspect this is not installed by default?

A lot of the VC and dotNET type redstributables are indeed not installed by default.

Yes. After you install windows, go to windows update and you will see quite a few supplemental downloads available, the C++ Redistributable being one of them…

Same problem been happening here - lockups happening when un/docking or jumping gates.

Happens both on max graphics and full potato mode.

DX12
Win 11
Ryzen 7600X
32GB DDR5
RTX 4070 Super

How about you all just get together on here and post your system specs and find out the common denominator. Mine runs just fine with zero issues.

Wiindows 10
16 GB
GTX 1060

This worked. Thanks

The impact of shader quality seems quite high. On Low, I’m getting 400+ FPS, on Medium it drops to 120, and at high it’s around 80-90 at best, docked in a structure with all other settings on max (except Depth of Field, because I hate that). 5900X and a 5080. I’ve toggled other settings and they don’t have nearly the same impact as changing Shader settings does. Is this normal?

THANK YOU!

I cannot believe installing this Visual C++ 2022 update on my system FINALLY fixed the problem of not being able to log in since March 30, 2025!

For DEVs and those suffering the odd problem of some of us unable to get a client window open, these are my system specs:

I am running a WINDOWS 10 Pro (22H2) PC tower with an i7-6700k Intel core (4 cores, 4 Ghz), 32 GB RAM, 10+ terabytes of SD/HD/M.2 storage space with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (latest version 572.83) and DirectX runtime version 12.0 (and from the last update debacle, I was instructed to change the Launcher settings to DirectX 11).

My EVE installation is entirely stored and executed on/from the M.2 (PCIe connected storage).

Almost 2 days, but the real point is that I wasn’t alone, and apparently many other people of diverse computer systems are running into the same problems of which the GMs were trying to figure out.

The reason I personally replied with system info is that 2 GMs were trying to figure out why I was among many people who submitted tickets stating that our Launchers could not establish opening a Client window, even though our Launchers get stuck in a “server login attempt failure”. If I can give thanks to the user’s suggestion and share my solution to the rest of the player base of whom some may be running into similar LogLite errors - then I should. So I did.
