GPU Driven Pipeline/Carbon Update - Known Issues

thats only what consumers think. professionals know how various things can affect systems and I am pretty sure the professionals ccp employs are working on it.
it might just as well turn out as something simple, like, not clearing all the cache files

Very well. Explain then something that is ALSO common to this issue. I can run 8 clients on almost full graphics in hisec, but only 3 without hanging randomly, and at times hard crashing our systems? You are also leaving out the inevitable variable of people that are having the problem, but that aren’t saying anything waiting for some results from others that ARE speaking up. From what I have read in various places, it FEELS like something is not getting unloaded from memory correctly, or something of that nature. Thirdly you are not accounting for the fact that the issue has varying severity on different machines. If we are to discuss an issue, lets not just consider the details that are convenient to our view

It affects every player in null sec that uses T3C. My alliance uses the Tengus as fleet doctrine and we sent CCP hundreds of bug reports after a few fleets on behest of our CEO and main FC so that CCP fixes this mess. This was weeks ago and no word since from CCP.

This is the same company that melted GPUs when they launched WIS, so it will be rough for a year or two.

Client stuttering has been reduced when Tech 3 ships are in the scene and the client is running with DirectX11.

This has indeed severely improved the situation. There’s still a tiny stutter when jumping a gate but the client killing freezes are gone. For the Loki, at least.

Now, what was the reason for it?

So, T3C and Direct X11 were the common denominator?

T3C were always the issue.

And apparently T3C still cause issues, as we had a Loki fleet out yesterday and the performance still suffered noticeably when lots of T3C are visible.

As per CCP’s post it would let one to believe that the people who were experiencing T3C issues were the ones who were also using Direct X11. So was that the common denominator between you guys – Direct X11?

My mining ships were T3Cs now?
Cause I have been unable to play and I’ve never flown a T3C.
Undocked in my porpoise and the stutter was still present but alot better.

DX11 is what I use. I do not know what other people use. The PN line does not rule out that this is an issue on DX12 either. What it does, however, is finally say that this was a CCP issue all along, though, despite CCP support and tech responsibles denying it in the beginning.

Naahh…that can’t really be that it is CCP who is causing this. @QuakeGod has already proven that it is the players and their machines fault, because it - supposedly - didn’t occur on his machine. So i would very much likee to hear @QuakeGod 's opinion on the patch notes and how CCP dares to prove his expert view completely wrong.

Also i hope the fixing continues in a timely manner, as there are still issues reported. And also the patch notes state that the fix is not completed yet. Reduced, but not eliminated!

Patch Notes for 2025-05-12.1

The march update totally ruined Eve for people with older hardware. GPU before was 60C - GPU now 80C.

If I tried to pull “Well, it works on my machine” at work I’d get told quite rightly “we’re not giving the client your machine”

I’m playing EVE right now after many days without playing the game, the game feels much better, HOWEVER I am still crashing every client when I dock Jita 4-4 even if I play with one client only even in full potato mode with control shift f9 on

give me a break CCP and don’t tell me its my fault or my hardware’s fault, there’s some extra spicy stuff in or out Jita 4-4 that makes some people crash no matter what

when the full potato mode will REALLY disable all effects around the station for real, like for really real

lol great docking at jita 4 4 working as intended

Just want to report that issue with T3C stutters hasn’t been resolved completly, but there are some improvements. Now it stutters just for 5 to 10 sec with T3C in grid, while almost no stutters while cyno/conduit jumping

Yet not perfect, atleast it’s somehow a bit of playable now, but should be resolved completly

jump cloning into jita 44 doesn’t crash the game

docking it crashes the game

I have a bug where typing in the item name into the search field in contracts window yields a message ‘this item doesn’t exist’ or ‘couldn’t find specified tem’ or such. For example typing ‘Golem’ got me that message today. (And my filters were fine).

And then when I open Golem Blueprint and click ‘Find in Contracts’ option through item menu, and then manually type in ‘golem’ into the search in contracts window after that, then the manual search works again.

Is this fixed?

T3C client freezing is definitely not fixed yet. With a single T3C, the freezes are almost gone but as soon as 2 or more, let alone a whole fleet of any T3C is in scene, the client throws its towel again.
