GPU Driven Pipeline/Carbon Update - Known Issues

Thanks for the report. It would be good if we could get a bug report from you (F12) in the client, which will include more system details. Please tag me in it so I can follow up.
We really do try to support old hardware for as long as possible, including doing specific work-arounds where we can even.
You can try dropping to DX11 (via the launcher) and see if that resolves it? IT would still be great to get a bug report if it did.

Hey folks, thanks for the reports. To allow me to help you as fast as possible, can I ask a few things:

  • Can you include your system spec in any posts with issues? It will allow us to see common trends and investigate those fastest. This is mostly: Platform (Windows 10 or 11 / macOS version), CPU and GPU.
  • If you have seen a performance degradation, then itā€™s really important we know where youā€™ve seen this.
  • Even if you post here, a bug report from in game would be great (F12). This gives us additional client information that we can look at. Feel free to tag me in them.
  • If itā€™s a visual issue, then a screenshot / video would be most appreciated

For older graphics cards, especially integrated ones (like the Intel ones in laptops) we recommend using DX11. As we make use of more DX12 features, we are seeing issues with older chips, especially with driver issues. Weā€™ll be updating the client in the next few days to force DX11 on these GPUs, as there is no advantage to running them under DX12 unlike more modern GPUs. Intel ARC cards will continue to use DX12 by default.

It looks like we hit a last second snag with FSR on macOS. Sorry about this. A fix will be rolled out soon.

Sent the report again (even though I had submitted one before) from a character linked to this account and mentioned your name in the report. The system confirmed the report was sent, but the attachments failed to upload.

To reproduce the issue:

  1. Set Shader Quality to Low.
  2. Open the star map with bridges displayed.
  3. Zoom in and out (scroll up, scroll down).

Thanks for getting back to me.
FSR upscaling is inside the client, itā€™s not a launcher DPI setting. Upscaling allows for a lower resolution version of the game to be ā€˜upscaledā€™ - allowing for a higher FPS. Itā€™s a common setting chosen by macOS users, as they usually have much higher resolutions than Windows players.
I was curious because we have an issue with this; but a fix will be rolling out soon.

I am running three (3) EVE clients in windowed mode
This may sound like an odd question, but do you use the default resolution on your system, or is this changed from the default?

How do you arrange your clients? Are they all on the same screen? Snapped to a certain location etc? A screenshot would be great. Iā€™d like to try and replicate the setup and compare to your results.

Went into a Rogue Drone Monument relic site and the screen had like a red cloud over the screen then kept going black screen then coming back and then dying again. FPS dropped of a cliff and only just about managed to warp out as it was so laggy. Usually donā€™t have any issues with 1 client open.

Running:
Processor AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six-Core Processor, 3400 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 16.0 GB
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB

Iā€™ll head down to my system in a few minutes and take some screenshots for you.

@CCP_Caffeine Iā€™m adding more details here:

This is what I had before the game update and have today except for disabled FSR which canā€™t be enabled now:

  • OS: macOS Sonoma 15.3.2
  • Computer: Apple Mac Mini (M4 Pro 12C CPU/16C GPU, 24Gb, 512Gb SSD
  • Resolution: 3840x2160
  • Display Mode: Fullscreen
  • UI Scaling: 150%
  • V-Sync: Off
  • Anti-Aliasing: High
  • Post Processing: High
  • Shader Quality: High
  • Texture Quality: High
  • LOD Quality: High
  • Shadow Quality: High
  • Ambient Occlusion: High
  • Volumetric Effects Quality: High
  • Reflections: Medium (because of significant FPS drops on explosions)
  • All the effects except for trails and Depth Of Field are turned on

Fresh start of the game. Iā€™m currently on a station in Jita IV and seeing ~39 FPS (was 60+) and 70% CPU load in the macOS activity monitor. Going out from the station I see the same ~39 FPS (was 60+) and CPU load increases up to 150%.

I took screenshots of everything (hope this helps). Maybe the whole issue is with the FSR not being able to be selected. 2880x1620 is one of the default (native) resolution settings.

Hereā€™s a copy of my ticket (2335561):

The LAUNCHER has updated. I updated my graphics card. I RESTARTED the entire PC system. Then I click on EVE and this has been my experience for hours:

I canā€™t open a CLIENT WINDOW to start PLAYING the gameā€¦

I am running a WINDOWS 10 Pro (22H2) PC with an i7-6700k Intel core (4 cores, 4 Ghz), 32 GB RAM, terabytes of SD/HD/M2 storage with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (latest version 572.83) and DirectX runtime version 12.0

When I click on the PLAY NOW option on one of my accounts offered in the LAUNCHER after your CCP latest update, the blue button changes in this order:

PLAY NOW - and when I select it, it then cycles through this loop of failure:

CLIENT IS RUNNING

GAME CLIENT IS STARTINGā€¦

then it resorts back to: PLAY NOW

What has been done? When will you fix it?

Thanks, I made a bug report. I donā€™t know precisely what is meant by ā€œtag meā€ so I included ā€œCCP Caffeineā€ in the title and linked the in-game character ā€œCCP Caffeineā€ in both the description & reproduction fields. EBR-35131

Also, I appreciate the effort & will help with further bug-hunting if I can, but Iā€™m finally upgrading this ancient thing.

Same for me, I5-12400H, 1660 super, 32G RAM. 572.83 drivers from Nvidia, DX12 - up2date
Work slooow on DX11 in settings and do not start at DX12 settings with.
Errors from Loglite:

  1. Failed to load python extension ā€˜_trinity_dx12ā€™ with flavor ā€˜ā€™
  2. ā€˜tranquilityā€™ for EVE game client for ā€˜30954045ā€™ exited with an error code. Exit code: 1, signal: -1

yes 8gb
its sitting at 6,1 with 5 clients set at max. but it is creeping up as time goes on

at 6.8 / 8gb the clients hard froze, when they unfroze, it spiked 7.4gb
once i crashed one of the clients to close, it spiked at 7.9gb and started to free up a bit

Pre-revenant i had no issues at all running all 9 clients at max, i only had to lower it due to the change in drone hordes causing the red storm flickering. now it wont run 5

I have 3 computers with Eve installed, the only one that will launch now is the one I bought last week. Iā€™t not right that you have to buy a new computer to play now. Iā€™ve been playing since 2004

DID YOU MAKE THAT F**KING INTERN TO REWRITE THE RENDER CODE?

So i have a mac mini m2 pro 16gb all lates updates

could run 4 clients with below settings on each all good and mini was COOL = run it like a champ was awesome

Dont know what has happened now - my m2 is soooooooooooo HOT exact same settings :frowning:

My manners are up to standard. I capitalized both indication words as well as exactly how the Launcherā€™s messages are presented: in ā€œall capsā€. Iā€™ve been working in tandum with GM Stark. Our corresponences have been slowly diagnostically progressive. When I have arrived at a solution, I will gladly share it.

Have a better one.

CPU @20%, GPU @85% , I am really wondering why someone wanted to move load from CPU to GPU when GPU was already the bottleneck except for rich people.

I have multiple extreme graphic bugs around stargates:

graphic bug 1

graphic bug 2

Weirdly Enough on my machineā€¦I am seeing performance buffs.

Heating issues are not happening as muchā€¦much more stability.

Not to the level of the March 2022 Graphics testā€¦but its working okay for me in a weird way.
