I’ve still not seen hide nor hair of this update.
Got a couple of wee bits today, sum total of about 300MB and change, no change in game, still got that memory leak after X jumps.

I submitted the report earlier, more details there. This particular issue manifested itself after the patch.
Thank you for your time, o7
If you are not able to use DirectX12 - like most complaining here - nothing is fine. So what is “fine” for you exactly?
CCP mentioned automatically downgrading the client settings to DirectX11 in an upcoming patch if they deem your GPU lowly and not worthy. Maybe they implemented this for you and you are now running DirectX11 without even noticing?
My particular problem was solved by a suggestion by GM Chaos AFTER today’s patch:
" It’s possible that an issue with DirectX 12 is the source of this problem, which may be resolved by reverting back to DirectX 11. Please see the following instructions below:
Interestingly, that worked. I guess anyone who is running a higher end card that runs DirectX 12, the EVE Launcher will detect DirectX 12 and make that the default setting - which prevents anyone trying to log in to this latest version of EVE. Once switched to DirectX 11, restart the EVE Launcher, and bingo.
Hope that may help other unable to get into the game.

Isn’t DirectX 11 a downgrad though?
it works…
CCP could you please give us our beards back. Thanks.
I downgraded from Dx 12 to 11 and for now it works smoothish
Regrettable that some players are experiencing trouble. My experience has been great and the visuals are excellent.
I completely agree, but I did what the GM said, and finally I was able to log in.
It seems very counterintuitive…
It is not possible to switch between the DirectX settings in my launcher. Yes, the default is set on DirectX 12, but the drop-down menu doesn’t activate X 11. So, while the option may be there, there is no way for some people to actually use it.
Meridan Night Absolutely. Here are my screenshots with the same behavior. At certain angles you can reproduce this around stations as well.
CCP Caffeine See above
Another weird graphics glitch I have is a ghost ship. It’s like a shadow of my active ship in space, and it never disappears.
Hmm… Truly sorry to hear. I’m just relaying what was told to me by GM Chaos, and it worked for me by selecting DirectX11 from the dropdown menu in the EVE Launcher settings. However, if you are running into that problem with their solution they gave me, I highly recommend submitting a tech ticket explaining what you just explained!
CCP Caffeine hi friend, I’ve posted some screenshots further down in this topic. I also sent a bug report from in-game on some other characters on the release day (not sure if that helps, but surely a bunch of people are seeing the same things?)
Quite telling that CCP, yet again, has to suggest to downgrade to DX11 to fix issues. Instead of coming up with ever new tech toys, CCP should fix their DX12 implementation first and foremost. It’s been years since its introduction and the issues are not abating.
Same situation, this really sucks
i am using DX11 and have bad performance. Especially when i undock for the first time after logging in, Eve freezes and blackscreens, flickers several times before stabilizing.
Turning 3D graphics OFF ( cntrl+shft+F9) makes it a bit better but still freezing for a few seconds and blackscreens ( looks like driver reset or something ).
In general CPU utilization went up, and GPU ether stayed the same or dropped.
After the unplanned reboot yesterday things got marginally slightly better but general issue still remains.
It was smooth and fine before, yes there were issues when warping into an anomaly, Eve would freeze with 3D graphics on, and looked like it was downloading stuff, even thought i download full client. But now this issue still remains plus all those mentioned above.
All in all a decent performance we traded for horrible
I have been getting FAR more frequent crashes of the EVE clients since this update as well. My laptop is running Intel i7-12650H with UHD graphics with 8g shared memory, and an NVidia GeForce RTX 4050 laptop GPU with 16g DDR6 memory. It has 16gb DDR5 system memory.
Before the update using DX 12 I would get freezing to a black screen, usually on more then one (of four) running clients. DX 11 runs fine, with a little lagging once in a while. But NOW, on DX12, all four freeze to a grey color with a square icon in the center, and then the entire laptop locks up completely. Almost to the point of requiring a reboot. After force closing one of the clients, it does not recover, unlike before the update. I mean, I don’t really care of I am running DX11 or 12, but since I understand 12 can run more efficiently, I would prefer efficiency. Post script: worse memory/CPU/GPU use is NOT better or more efficient. In all honesty, looking at things going on when running it in DX12, it seems like your improvements have, in fact, done exactly the opposite of what you intended..?
