I actually like the idea behind this year’s Halloween event. It feels more developed than last year’s, and there’s a lot of potential here. But the actual experience is starting to wear thin.
Finding an event site can take up to an hour because there just don’t seem to be enough of them. I haven’t seen a single T3 site since the event started. I spent two days roaming through low-sec, well away from the trade hubs, and found nothing. If these sites are meant to be part of the event, their spawn rate needs to be higher.
The loot is another major problem. You do the same activity over and over, and the result is either nothing or some junk. That’s not satisfying, and it gives me no reason to keep going.
I’d also remove the NPC scrams and points from the low-sec sites. I’ve had encounters with hunters, and getting tackled in a site makes an already frustrating experience feel even worse.
CCP used to run events where you could get boosters, and the drops felt worthwhile. I remember sites paying out around 80–150 million ISK, which gave you visible progress and made running more sites feel worth your time. Right now, there’s very little incentive to continue.
The concept is good. The site availability and rewards just aren’t delivering. Increase the spawn rate, make the rewards feel consistent, and give players some progress even when the rare drops don’t land. At the moment, I’m doing the same thing repeatedly for a chance at nothing—and that’s not much of an event.
