One ugly thread.
They agree to a match, but they don’t agree to being hit. They are actually trying to avoid being hit. They however understand that it’s a likely possibility.
Player’s agree to play EVE, but they might not agree to PvP. Many are actually trying to avoid PvP. They however understand that it’s a likely possibility.
Anyone playing EVE has agreed to the fact that PvP can happen almost anywhere at almost anytime.
Not necessarily. They may have been attracted to the building aspect of the game and didn’t read the fine print. Like when you install a new app or power up a new phone. Do you read all the fine print? Have you seen the official EVEOnline trailer for mining? It doesn’t show anything about PvP. Technically, when you tick the "Accept Terms" you are responsible but it doesn’t mean you actually agree or understand said terms.
At the end of the day, you’re taking something from someone that didn’t “sign up for that ”…
Your comment on boxing is patently false. They absolutely agree to being hit. %
Uh…
wtf are you smoking, that is a legal binding contract, if you accept terms, you fully agree to them.
Hi CR; I’m one of those people who always reads the manual before doing anything else with new kit - hardware or software.
It might be habit. I grew up in a time when the manuals came packaged with your goods - not digitally.
I could claim that it’s to make sure I’m aware of all the features of what I’ve bought; but honesty compels me to admit to you that’s only partially true.
The only law in eve is “Might makes Right” (IUS Lex Title 1, Chapter 1, Pg 1)
Your penny ante Hague Regulation is a subset of the one TRUE LAW in New Eden.
But it’s not fine print.
You agree to the game’s EULA whether you read it or not. You agree to PvP whether you’ve read about it or not.
Nice character name. Says it all.
Spoken like a true opportunist.
If being small and petty comes naturally to you, run with it!!!
Says the guy who claims this:
And this:
You do realise what you link has absolutely no bearing on an online videogame, right? VIDEOGAME. ON PC.
You are not participating in an armed conflict in the real world. Can you get it through your head?
Man and you said you’ve been a policeman? It’s really worrying someone like you got to carry a gun. Im not from the US but still …
Well, its like taking candy from a baby. Some people feel good doing that.
My alt, specifically.

What Is Consideration?
Consideration is the benefit that each party gets or expects to get from the contractual deal – for example, Victoria’s Secret gets your money; you get the cashmere robe.
In order for consideration to provide a valid basis for a contract – and remember that every valid contract must have consideration – each party must make a change in their “position.”
Unfortunately, half the time, it is their older brother or sister.
And people agree to PvP as soon as they undock
Oh. So we smoking straight quafe now. I see, I see.
You don’t have any idea on how capitalism works huh? Sigh. Typical of my fellow countrymen.
Me too!
Sadly, the way he acts may actually substantiate his claims Our cops really be like that.
There’s a significant proportion of people who can’t mentally separate video game conflict from real-life conflict, so it’s quite possible that he, in fact, can’t do that.
It’s a significant issue here. In some places, the bar to get into a position of armed authority is set exceptionally low.
How little self-respect do you have that whenever someone disagrees with the stupid ■■■■ you say on the forums, you desperately attempt to gaslight the ISDs into punishing your opponents in a vain attempt at backseat moderation, like a soccer player writhing around on the field while faking an injury to try to get the ref to give the opposite team a red card?
I think that you have the wrong expectations for the game. That is why you are disappointed and unless you change those expectations, you will continue to be disappointed. Many that read this thread can think of a fight in WH space that started with the gank of a praxis or some other similar ship that became much, much more than a lopsided pile on. Too bad you couldn’t bring a better response…it could have been glorious!
