I have tried a Proteus, a Myrmidon, and an Ishtar (Mastery V in all of them) and I just cannot do these sites. Like, I dunno what I’m doing wrong, because other people have said that they can solo these sites with similar ships/fits and I just… Can’t.
Even running cap-stable dual armor reps I can’t tank the DPS that the Mach lays down. I’ve tried focusing on Frigates first, focusing on Cruisers first - doesn’t seem to matter.
I really don’t know what I’m doing wrong because even with an Assault Damage Control on the Ishtar the Mach just eats through my armor.
Like, it’s cool that some players can do it, but needing a fit with deadspace/faction gear seems a bit much to me - and clearly I’m not skilled enough of a pilot despite having all relevant skills at level 5 to be able to do them with even that.
Don’t give up! You deserve a lot of credit for trying so many things, it sounds like you just haven’t found the right combo of things. I got my butt kicked in several different combos until I found what worked for me (without faction or DED modules, I should add). It’s just about getting that optimization.
Since your issue seems to be with tank, what I can suggest is to shift things around to put some serious resists in place for EXP- I mean buff that like crazy, and it will be a huge help.

I switched to Ham so I didn’t have to deal with the poor projection of ACs. With 30km range I don’t have to move much against the kiting cruisers, nor do I have to worry about tracking. It even deals more raw damage and can apply fine. I fitted the LSE to deal with the high volley damage that people talked about, but I don’t think it’s nescessary. Turned out that one invuln is also more than enough so I fitted a Guidance computer (otherwise the range would have been 25km). Fed navy web is not required as you can use a T2 web you can heat for long to reach the 30km range, but I got lazy. The 150mm’s are just for killing frigs. The fit requires a 3% cpu implant with perfect skills (including launcher rigging 5) if not then you can just ditch the 150mm’s.

It seems to me your trying to straight up trying to take on the bosses, you need to get an afterburner and keep traversal, this way the damage will be massively decreased that you will receive.
I’d have to vote an appropriately fit Gila is hands down; the Gala buster of the year. And for less than 300M ISK. Warp to 0, deploy drones, wait for guest, Nova’s and win. I only occasionally lose the loot to some higher DPS BS’s, but come on; you need a BS to Gala??. Haha. j/k.
