So i understand ccp wanting to make the Events more challange but seriously putting in a NPC carrier that you have to fight and kill is just silly

The version I did in highsec is too difficult for new players, even teaming up.
I’ve done all of the “events”; many times with new players, or assisting new players. It has been in the past an excellent way for new players to interact and earn an income in highsec.
However, this Guardian’s Gala is like…work.
There is a Guardian’s Gala site in my local rookie system. How rookies are suppose to run these sites I’ve no idea.
I suppose they’ll skip them.

Not every event has to cater to everyone. Some are suitable for rookies, some for vets. As long as @CCP_Dragon keeps mixing them up it should all work out.
Personally I prefer having to work for my loot, rather than the push button receive bacon events like Alpha Strike.

I’ve only run one site so far, but it was awesome! I got pounded fairly severely, but made it through after I figured out the mechanics and how to adapt my strategy, and then I went off to tweak my fitting to to a bit more effective in running them.
In short, I was surprised, had to work at clearing the site, had to spend some time thinking about how to handle it, and am tweaking my ship to adapt- this is the most engaged I’ve been in an event in a long time.
I’m already seeing purple kills on zKill, so this is definitely going to take a lot of folks by surprise and will be a challenge for some to solo in some cases, but as others have said, not all sites have to cater to all players.
For me, this was a welcome tweak to the Gala from last year and I had a blast running the site.

If you can lock the carrier in the first place. I had the lovely experience of the carrier getting stuck in warp. It kept spewing out more and more ships but I could not do anything about their failed mothership.

Was running this in my Vexor, that I’ve ran every other event sites with… and BOOM! I got 1 shot by the battleship.
There is link to image of dmg done. 6569, and that’s probably because that’s all the HP I had left.
Is this really what they expect people to fight against? This is in HS btw. Not sure I would recommend soloing these, even in HS.

This gala is also impossible to do with any Amarr ships using lasers (only ships using missiles have a chance)
This gala is only good for active tankers, with very close range guns

I am doing them in a Tengu with hams and yes they are more difficult than previously!
Expect to get webbed a lot!

The battleship spawn in HS is a bit much I think. Lots of alphas will probably die to this. The sites are also a lot easier for missile users. Not trained in missiles? Best of luck then.
