Has the chance of faction spawns in Lvl 4 missions been removed?

Returning from a year out, I was wondering if the chance of faction spawns in missions like Blockade and Worlds collide been removed? Any insight would be appreciated.

I think it heavily depends on the faction you’re working for, at least to me working for the Caldari Navy in L4s I Rarely ever get faction missions.

They still happen but they are very rare.

If you want faction loot, try Anomic Missions. The odds of a “faction drop” are around 5-10% for Agents and Teams, and sometimes higher for Bases depending on the rats (it’s like 30-45% per rat for the Serpentis Base).

If you get a Faction drop, the agents/bases will drop anything from only a stack of 1000 regular/prestigeous pirate ammo to a stack of ammo + 1-2 faction module(s) and/or pirate ship BPC, although I’ve only seen a Ammo + 2 module + BPC drop once in over 6000 burners. The Teams DO NOT have faction ammo as a possible drop, so whenever those roll a faction drop it is always going to be at least one faction module, which is super nice even though it’s usually just a worthless armor plate/hardener. However, teams also don’t drop faction ship BPCs, which isn’t really a big problem since those drops are super rare as is for Agents/Bases

I used to get the very rare faction spawn in WC, but it has been awhile since that has occurred. When it did, it usually was merely a higher bounty npc that dropped zero loot. Gone are the days when you had an outside chance of having some “meh” loot dropped. I never saw any faction spawn and drop in The Blockade mission, but the bounty and mundane loot drop with salvage usually keeps me happy.

Would be nice to have a very rare chance to have any faction npc spawn and drop special loot in any mission, but I can already hear the null bear cries. A special drop in some ratio like 1/500 or higher wouldn’t break the game, but I don’t think we will see something like that anytime soon. A random mission/exploration site generator would be a godsend to the large portion of EVE players that mission run and explore, but it appears that feature isn’t even on the radar of CCP’s devs.

Bottom line: the same old same old.

I heard sometimes Worlds Collide and Blockade can spawn Overseers.

It would be fine and well if it was just the amazing chance of getting a Faction Drop per Talos in that mission.

But no! There are SO MANY amazing Shadow modules too, like mag stabs, sensor boosters, tracking enhancers, and of course the DCU:

You are bound to get at least 200 mil or more in loot for every 5 Serpentis Base you run. That’s pretty amazing for a “random chance” thing in EVE PVE. Of course, this is sort-of offset by the fact that most ships that can run this mission safely these days will run you up 1 bil or more and that ship is ONLY for this mission, and it’s one of the longest burners to complete, next to the Guristas Base which no one in their right mind wants to run.

I actually did a little bit of statistic on talos loot values, it averages about 5-6m per Talos.

I have not done any study and my evidence is purely anecdotal, so I’ll trust you over me on this

Just calculated again and the last two DCUs had raised the average value to 8.26m
BTW, I remember the sensor boosters were around 160m years ago but its price dropped rapidly after the Carrier revamp.

One of my corp members just told me you can use ship scanner on Burner Talos to see what it will drop (will only show part of drops each scan). This should be helpful if you want to farm those Talos.
