Heads up that INIT are using bait-cyno ventures with multiple scrams

It seems that INIT have stooped to a new low - Something you would think impossible but apparently not. The cowards are now using bait-Ventures that have not one, but two warp scrams fitted. I was unfortunate enough to discover this when they attacked my Tengu just now, activated my WCS but still couldn’t warp out. What a truly sad, pathetic alliance that Dark Shines now runs, a far cry from the mighty INIT of old! Anyway, watch out that you don’t fall victim to these same underhand tactics when fighting INIT.

Thank you for your attention to this matter!

I was actually tackled by a venture (or maybe a prospect?) some time last week, didn’t expect it, took him with me but the Sin waiting in the wings bested me in the end

With a proper fit and some attention you’d have escaped easily and/or killed the Venture in the process. Get good.

I guess I was thrown off balance by the fact that someone would actually be sad enough to fit multiple scrams to a Venture but hey, when you’re a D-Tier alliance at BEST, gotta get the wins any way you can right?

Sounds like someone wanted to shoot some seemingly defenceless frigates in a T3 Cruiser and got outplayed by them!

It’s not a bad strategy imo you’ll catch a lot of folk off guard with this, I wasn’t even going for it, we just happened to emerge from a gate together.

Yeah for sure, you will catch people and fitting multiple scrams on unlikely ships is allowed and so that’s cool. I just thought it’s kinda scraping the barrel in terms of engaging gameplay, but if that’s what INIT is going for now, and they can get results from it, then all cool. It’s a long way from the INIT I remember in the old days, but they are undeniably faltering under Dark Shines leadership of late, and the influx of a massive amount of low-quality F1 pushers from Pandemic Horde can’t be helping.

Are you sure you wish to complain about that, as someone who apparently targets defenceless stationary T1 frigates?

Maybe I misunderstood the post and it was meant as joke, but it is rather ironic to complain like this when you’re picking on the easiest of all easy targets yourself: cyno Ventures.

Catching a T3C is well worth the effort however, and I applaud that Venture pilot for their successful bait.

One person in a Tengu going up against an alliance with thousands of players, of which dozens if not hundreds are always active and ready to hunt, is hardly “picking on the easiest of all easy targets”.

Cloaky camping has always been a science, a discipline, especially after observatories were introduced. You need to chose your target, know when to strike, when not to strike, and manage to get in and out all before standing fleet responds. It can actually be very difficult even if it does look like you’re just picking on easy targets.

Hi Dark Shines - Congratulations on destroying our POS last year. I truly thought it was invincible but you proved otherwise. You might have noticed I’ve anchored another 2, one of them at the same moon in Itamo, and made a few changes to the configuration. I think this one will be a LOT harder to attack. Is your alliance brave enough for a rematch? My POS v your Leshak fleet - Itamo, bring it?

Have you tried long-range weapons to kill cyno Ventures?

There’s no need to get into tackle range when they tackle themselves!

I’ll need to look at something like that, if this is going to be an ongoing issue. I cloaky camp J5A all the time, I can’t be losing a Tengu every gank.

What setup would you recommend? Am using a Tengu with HAM’s atm

It could be as easy as an ammo swap. Check if the other T2 ammo or faction ammo could let you hit the Venture from outside overheated scram range and do that. Rage range may be too short.

Javelin lets me hit out to 46km, although with the WCS fitted I can only target out to 36km but still that’s outside the range of anything a Venture can do to scram me. Looks like I’ve found my answer!

You deserved that loss. Complaining here while constantly killing defenseless people. As far as I can see on the killboard, no Cyno-Ventures, MTUs, or Ratting-Vexor have complained about a loss. You should just calm down, you’re a terrible crybaby.

How else should you fit a tackle venture?
Not fitting 2 scrams on a tackle venture would be stupid.

‘Bait’ and ‘Venture’ do not belong in the same sentence. Proper response when running into a Venture is to scroll by.

GASP Two warp scrams?! You mean they fitted their ships for PvP?! Say it isn’t so!
