Also these link to several other channels as well. It would be nice, if there were an index of player channels. I imagine too many of them would be spam chat channels for hyper casinos and corporate recruiters. I don’t mind people who desire to promote their corp, but mass spamming invites to chat is just a bit too much.

Hang in there. Seek out the good people in the game and you’ll get on okay. Despite the fact that there is a fair bit of toxicity in EVE, they really do exist (Mike Azariah / Operation Magic School Bus is a good example of how this manifests).
Having supportive and non-judgemental friends/buddies around you in EVE is definitely one of the things, IMHO, that you need to keep playing and enjoying the game … best ship in EVE? The Friendship.

Like @Gerard_Amatin said correctly above, there are no dumb questions in EVE. I was lurking in one of the help channels the other day and one of the ISDs said iut much more eloquently that I have. They wrote, “All you need to know about this game is that all the pilots fly Titans were once rookies in Corvettes.”

I don’t need much support to keep playing, it’s really an interesting game, but I want to fleet so I will see what the possibilities are.

That’s a nice sentiment. I think a common mistake is trying to go too far too fast, no patience and trying to show off.

This is an entirely fair question.
When you set up an information channel, to get a bunch of links and any other text in there, you embed it into the Message Of The Day (MOTD) message (eg: the text that pops up when you log into the channel). The MOTD has a finite limit of 4000 characters maximum (and this includes both the visible and invisible [formatting, colour and so on] text).
In terms of the five information channels that I run most are almost up to the full character limit:
Mu’ad Diib’s Channels - 2625/4000
Rookie Infopedia - 3952/4000
Pilot Infopedia - 3977/4000
Overview Encyclopedia - 3990/4000
Fittings Encyclopedia - 3777/4000
Arguably I could slim these down very slightly to allow more content by stripping out all the formatting but this would remove a lot of the visual interest and probably wouldn’t save enough to be able to combine two channels into one or something similar.

Personally, I stack windows into logical groups when I’m online so that as a set they take up less room and flicking between them is just a matter of clicking on the appropriate tab.
That’s a fair point although I kinda like my bio the way it is at the moment so I don’t want to change it.
When I read this I however I set up a fifth channel (because I think it’s a fair point) called ‘Mu’ad Diib’s Channels’ which lists all of the others so if you did want to just have one channel open and just dip into the others as and when they are needed, this is a good way of doing this. I hope!
Aside of my channel, those are all brilliant and useful channels @Princess_Rose_Ivory and I’m glad that they’re proving useful to you. Given the average logins that I’ve seen when online for my channels, especially Overview Encyclopedia and Fittings Encyclopedia, there is a clear need for this kind of easy-to-access info in the game.
I think there are a few info channels out there, like mine that list specific channels by genre - eg: Overview Encyclopedia bit I’m not sure that a single channel would be possible, mostly because of the MOTD character limit.
To be fair I do have a plug for my corp in one of the channels that I set up, ‘Mu’ad Diib’s Channels’ but I hope it’s pretty low-key. I do definitely agree with you though, mass spamming invites to people in channels is not okay, and haven’t and will never do this.

you can do that, you know, not have all the channels open and filling the bar, just available in the in game notepad.

Since you’re on the CSM (or hopefully will be again … you have my vote either way) is there a chance we could have either more characters in the MOTD? Or even notebooks that we could share or part share with others?
Shareable notebook sounds good but I wonder how it will find a way to be abused (seriously, being on the csm makes me think this way)
I will ask if the limit could go up a bit but it is these little changes that are sometimes the hardest ones to push for. Trick is finding the right dev to talk to.
