While every action and decision has consequences for the universe and its hundreds of thousands of players,

the game remains very much about your unique adventure and story.

A story that will forever be woven into the fabric of EVE.
Edit: This is not intended as any insult toward anyone. Itās a valid perspective that immortal capsuleers build empires with.
Here is the original EvE trailer, in case any plebs are confused about whether or not this is a game about piracy:
Note the part about āhumpsucking miner drones, with no sense of purpose in their lifeā.

Iāve certainly built an empire all my own, after eight years serving with the Khanid Mashtori, deep inside the Caldari zoneā¦
3 out 4 aint bad.
Thatās a crappy, player made video. Not an official Eve Online trailer.
Lying comes too easy for some.
You should, at the very least, buy a SATA SSD just for Windows and Eve Online. That would be the cheapest upgrade and it would help a lot.
Keep the HDD for your other games.
Being a good person matters to some, but not all.
Iām the best princess ever!

imagine thinking your real life morality applies to a video game where piracy and nonconsentual pvp is a major selling point.
This might be news to you, but you are not actually your character. Your character is barely even pixels that has absolutely no bearing on the game. Your trained in-game skills matter, your learned real life skills when applying said in-game skills matter, but you are still not your character. Youāre not actually murdering anyone. The things taken from you, were taken from someone else, or stolen from space that was taken from someone else.
You need to take a step back and reset your priorities and expectations. This video game mirrors real life, in that you only have an illusion of safety, but you are still not your character. Many people Role Play what they think their characters would say or do, but they are still not their characters.
Ships are ammo, donāt get attached. Loot in your hold is not isk in your wallet. You may have heard a really old saying, ā donāt count your chickens before they hatchā? It applies to this game extremely well. Protect your money bags while you take them to sell and then get the isk in your wallet. Donāt want to do that, there is no help for you, buttercup. Youāre still not your character, youāre not actually being murdered, and the things taken from you are still just pixels.
Please, at least attempt to keep this in mind before making wild morality claims.
There is no shame in running games on a potato. It is my objective to reduce the PC to the bare minimum requirements to operate under Linux OS. Even if it chugs along at 10 frames per second, I call it a win.
I do this to know what can and cannot be done. To this date, I am able to operate EVE on a old I3 core CPU, as low as 2 GB of passive video RAM, and 8 GB of DDR 3 memory. Now it is true, the game is not much to look at on that machine. I can even get some of these online games to function on a USB 2.0 thumb drive ā no hard drive at all ā which is almost as cool as making Doom run on a pregnancy test.
Fly Safe o7
Im aware of that. Ive run plenty of games on plenty of potatos in my day. However, 10 frames is not acceptableā¦but you do you.
Im merely telling the op why he is possibly having issues with this game and having to reinstall it every three months. I find that a bit of nonsense in my opinionā¦.but hey, computers are like snowflakes when it come to why games run fine on one rig and not the other.
Again, the op is having issues on his end and blaming the game on it. Its pretty obvious that his issue is a possible hdd drive beginning to corrupt, or having difficulty with properly loading updates. Maybe its not the hdd at allā¦maybe its one or many of the other possible outdated components in the tower. I havent seen a single post about computer specs or what else the op has tried to fix his issue. He just came on here ranting about when updates should happen and its not his potato rig thats the problem.
This game has never been difficult to run on any rig out thereā¦.if youre not having issues. But, if small problems start to pop up at regular intervals, and your hardware is as old as that used pregnancy testā¦then its time to upgrade.
Player. Being a good player matters to some.
What you are really saying here is:
āHow about you stop working on updating the game and let bugs rot for about 2 weeks before being fixed, because Iām inconvenienced by downloads in an online game.ā
Beside the fact what i already said aboveā¦..a 1 gb download does not even take 10 secondsā¦..if waiting 10 seconds REALLY stresses his brain THAT much i absolutely smell adhs here ![]()
Choose the right.
No worries, when you grow up and actually educate yourself how PC works, you wont be saying dumb stuff like this.
But hey ho- sheep like you makes people wealthy.
And as i stated correctly, factually and clearly before- you think that just because YOU have it good, everyone else on the planet has the same.
Think before you say something.
They are not removing bugs, they are mostly fixing spelling mistakes and minor graphic issues.
There is a reason why every update is same exact files over and over again.
Again- just because YOU have no problems with the game that does not means you are the majority, and you are not majority.
Every single player I ask about problems in game tells me a story about their problem, and all of them( and I will put you in here, you just are lying for some reason) must have to reinstall the game in one point of playing.
My rig is perfect. No- more then perfect.
It is god like.
You know why?
Because i have zero issues with it.
The ONLY problem I have is with eve online.
Why is that fact hurting your butthole so much, I cant say.
Nor do I care, to be honest.
ALSO, many people that are playing eve online are on limited internet.
Downloading 150mb for some random game per day is just insulting the playerbase.
Also, my āpotatoā of a PC runs most of new games on 4k, no fake frames( I bet you have to use them in your fancy new 50xx GPU).
Also also, just by saying that āyour rigā is bad/old/suck, without one single info of what my rig is- tells me everything i need to know about your education level in the matter.
But since you did not ask, I will tell you- you put your OS on dedicated fast SSD, you put everything else on fast and cheap HDD( I have several 7200rpm, 4tb ones) and your PC is as fast as any SSD based PC.
But that is knowledge for people that think over just being sheep and pay, so you are just all right.
